Have you read the latest AAR's, Tech Support, WiF School and The War Room?

Sadly, that is one of the less active sections of the forum. If you look on the main Products page, that too has an 'Opponents Wanted' section where there have been a couple of fairly recent posts.

Your current options for playing MWiF against an opponent are:

1. Finding someone near where you live so you can play using Solitaire/Hot-Seat modes live on the same computer.
2. Some form of screen-sharing arrangement. Cohen uses Skype to good effect. He's shown me how this one works. Others use Teamviewer. There are AAR's describing this.
3. Swapping files and instructions via E-mail and/or AAR as per the games from Warspite1 vs Orm or Mayhemizer vs myself. If both of you can arrange to be 'online' together for at least some of the time, the interaction doesn't have to be much slower than the Skype/Teamviewer options, depending on your internet upload speeds. It does remain, however, a slower paced game. This isn't necessarily a disadvantage as it does give you time to think about moves and, unlike the other methods, does not require any time together online at the expense of speed. Thus you could play someone from a totally different time zone.

A multi-player game using E-mail/AAR sharing hasn't been tried yet. I can't see why this wouldn't work but it would need more file swapping than a 1 on 1 game would need. Mayhemizer and myself only swap game files at the end of the impulse and a couple of times during the End of Turn phase for Stay at Sea, Return to Base and Production. With more than one player on each side, there would need to be some file swapping during the impulses to hand over from the German player to the Italian/Japan player for example.

I can only suggest posting an Opponent Wanted, with details of where you are from and the type of game you are looking for and wish you good luck.

Teamviewer and finding someone in a relatively matched time zone is my preferred way of playing :-)

I would like to see a ladder tournament to increase/maintain interest and get the competitive synapses firing.

Yes, a couple of friends and I have just started a few practice scenarios to get started and familiarise ourselves, after a multi year break from the board game.
