Hi,

Are you sure you properly copied the files from the .zip over the ones in the installation directory?

I am almost 100% sure this must be due to you making a 'mistake' with manually copying the files.

It is on my to-do list to make a fully automized patch to avoid this sort of stuff from happening.

In the meantime please re-read the install instructions for copying the files.

Best wishes,
Vic

Hi,

thanks from the prompt reply.
I copied the zip file in the DCCommunityProject root folder and extracted all files (replacing it).
I checked security and permissions.
If I change back to the old (0.75) exe file it runs with no problems, also load the new libraries included in the patch.

I run DC:Barbarossa and DCCommunityProject (0.75) in Windows XP.

Hi laska,

Thanks for reporting the issue. I would like to solve it. But do not have a lot to go on right now.

When the .exe crashes don't you have the option to go to details and copy & paste a more readable error message?
(its possible the above is all you get but that would indicate an error on startup)

When you run DC:Barbarossa v1.03m2 (latest beta) does all go well?

Also you might want to try Community Project v0.80e:
http://www.vrdesigns.net/privatepatch/CommunityHotfix80e.zip

Do you have XP SP3 installed?

Best wishes,
Vic

Hi Vic,

First of all I haven't got any problem with DC:Barbarossa/Community(latest patch) on my notebook Windows 10 I5, 12 Gb RAM, NVIDIA GTX960.

Different on a desktop WinXP SP3 core2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, integrated graphic:

- Community Project v0.80e:
It gives an exception on start indicating only the process and the thread causing it, no additional info.
- Community Project v0.80h:
no more than I wrote in my previous post, plus a memory stack that I can't copy and paste.

- DC:Barbarossa:
Run as usual

Hi laska,

Thanks for the feedback. There is a number of things that could be at fault here. I would really like appreciate if you could do one or two tests for me on your system.

Here is a test version 0.80m:
http://www.vrdesigns.net/privatepatch/Community80m.zip

Please see if this causes the same crash.
If this also crashes I still have another idea up my sleave. So please do report back.

Thanks for your time in advance and trying to help me get this XP issue resolved.

Best wishes,
Vic

Hi Vic,

no crash or error with 0.80m, I'll go on my custom scenario/map development.
I keep this thread alive for future testing results.

thanks
Max

Well thats good news!
Thanks for trying this out.

Turns out it was probably a DPI sensitive function I recently added to have non-fuzzy graphics in Win8/10. Forgot about XP to be honest. Good we are doing BETA's and we have you helping out to pinpoint the issue.

Its on the schedule to make a propper new installer for the current version asap. Hopefully somehwere next week.

Best wishes,
Vic
