Here is my first scenario

Let me know if you have any suggestions and enjoy!

EDIT: Updated, Scoring revised, now you might have to work a smidge for triumph, but it is not likely that you will "lose"

EDIT 2: Edited Mechanism for the Scramble! event, now all fighters should come out and engage

Are you sure the timings are correct, because the scenario only has 2:30 time to execute, but SEAD aircraft have time to ready 1:30 at start of the scenario? Is that intended?

One of the SAMs, SAM Bn SA6a Gainful #368, is outside the target area.

Otherwise reasonably epic with 100+ aircraft in the air at the same time in a very small area. I scored Triumph 271, at a loss of three aircraft, and SAF expenditures were

EXPENDITURES:
------------------
312x SA-6a Gainful [9M336]
77x SA-2d Guideline Mod 2 [S-75 Volga, 20D / V-755]
110x SA-3b Goa [5V27, V-601P]
5x AA-2a Atoll [R-3S]
21x AA-7 Apex A [R-23R, SARH]
2x 23mm Gsh-23L Burst [40 rnds]
3x SA-7a Grail [9M32]

So enemy spent about what, 500 missiles for three aircraft, with a hit rate less than 1%. Well I can't help but wonder how close is that to the real life?

In real life, Israel wiped the floor with the Syrian Air Force, what's remarkable about this operation is how short the initial phase was (the Israelis later re-attacked the SAM sites)

What happened was that the Commander of the IAF (David Ivry) called off the operation about an hour before dark (at approximately 13:00) so indeed the short timing is intended.

What the Wikipedia didn't make clear was whether the 82 aircraft were shot down during the first strikes or whether that was including strikes the next day as well (ORBATs and other operational details would be well appreciated). So I decided to make the scenario fun by having a horde of Syrian aircraft come out of the gate

Syria's SAMs were basically useless in real life due to Israeli jamming (which the wikipedia entry says was done from the E-2s).

Do you think the scenario needs to be harder? In order to do that I might have to drastically change the scenario from what it was in real life.

I also think that maybe I should edit scoring based on that number. Maybe increase point loss from downed Israeli aircraft.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though AlexGGGG

I thought of Dimitris' post on the Bekaa when I saw a scenario reenactment of it.

Well, I don't think I want it any harder. There are plenty other scenarios if I want to get hurt :)

I'd say leave it as it is as a good example. This sort of resembles real life when sometimes you just win.

The only change I see needed is to move a SAM #368 inside the designated target area.

Played the original.  Nice scenario, lots to coordinate.  Noticed that the Mig-23's did not engage, they flew around a bit then withdrew east of their base.  The Regt of Mig-21s was not much of a challenge on its own, only flew about 1/2 of the Ftrs and still had plenty of fuel and missiles left.  I planned the ground strike badly and lost 4 aircraft so will try it again when I get a chance.  Good one.

I originally had a limiter on how many aircraft could fly out at once from the Syrian side, but I removed that (though there is an event which, after the Syrians lose 80ish aircraft, ends all of the intercept missions (to very roughly simulate the Syrians routing and returning to base).

I'm not great with the scenario editor though so I have no idea why the MiGs might not have been engaging.

The only ones who came my way were the 32 that got shot down. I'll take a look in the editor and see if anything pops out.

OK
I think that the way you have it set up should work. Not sure why it didn't for me. Setting things up like this can be done several ways, I think my preferred method would be:

-Set up an AAW patrol: 1/3 rule OFF, investigate ON, set up a Prosecution Zone which will limit the Syrian fighters to a designated area.
-Set the patrol to activate when you think it would happen, this is the down side of using this method, you need to forecast how things will role. But it is a short scenario and you already have all ftrs on a 20 min ready status and you know how you have told the player to do it.
-For the route, you can set up an event very similar to the one you have and just deactivate the one Patrol mission

The patrol method is simpler and more predictable - I think. It will essentially dump all 96 AC into the patrol area at once, which is the effect that I think your after. Now that I'm thinking about it, you could activate the mission similar to your 'Scramble Fighters' event.

Anyway those are my thoughts. The editor is very powerful and you can usually achieve the desired effect in several different ways.

Hope this helps. Missed the part about this being your first scenario - its very nice.

I genuinely forgot that I made this.

It might be? I will update it to latest database to make sure.

EDIT: Yes. If further suggestions come along, then I will rework. Otherwise, the scenario is ready.
