I am a little late in passing on kudos for the update of this great game....so I am doing it now!
My only problem is my aging eyes and diminished eyesight. I am very much looking forward to additional zoom levels.
I am also having a very difficult time seeing the cursor in scenarios with snow...again my eyesight. Will the next
update include additional zoom in options for both 3D and 2D? Is there any chance that a larger and broader cursor
could be included?

Thanks for the work that went into this update.

Dave

Two new zoom-in 2D levels have been added to the Campaign Series Middle East game, also larger cursor options.

We have no plans to issue any more updates to the older JTCS games. JTCS 2.02 is end-of-line, terminal, for the older legacy series.

But if we release any WWII-based remake games, yes, they will have larger 2D (and also 3D?) zoom options, and larger cursor options, also.

Glad you are enjoying the current (and final) JTCS 2.02 update.

Thanks very much for your response. I am playing the game at high resolution on a 24-inch monitor. I will have
to try the game at a lower resolution. Does the game loose anything with lower resolution? I did try to increase
the magnification while maintaining the high resolution. However, I found that the visual quality of the "reachable
hexes' and other highlight parameters suffered some.

Thanks,
Dave

At different Windows screen resolutions, game operation should be unaffected. It will just look bigger or smaller.

Huh? Frankly This is starting to piss me off...first the revamped east front game would be released this year...then it slipped into the indefinite future after Vietnam...now it is "if" you release any WWII remakes. So much for buying Mideast to support the WWII remakes.

Well, no, it's not an if.

It's a 98% go.

There is still that nagging 2% that needs to be dealt with before we can proceed with the plan for the World War 2 upgrade. Once that has been dealt with, we'll be moving full steam ahead with the new World War 2 versions.

The nagging 2% boils down to a legal issue that needs a "good to go" from the legal team at Slitherine. Without that final 2% our hands are tied.

Another reason why we're working on Vietnam now, to let these issues work themselves out.

I hope that makes sense.

Well good luck, but. my experience is that once he lawyers are involved, you're screwed. Even if they successfully resolve any issues, I would guess that just paying their fees would suck up a large part of the proceeds of a niche product like this.

I hope that there will be some kind of announcement once this is resolved, because until then my interest in this series will basically be on hold.

I'm forced to agree with 76mm on the lawyers getting involved.

But geez, what kind of a legal issue could be involved with a game (already published) that depicts a war that was fought over 70 years ago?

I hope its not something like copy write over images or how lines of code are written explicitly in the files.

If that is true the CS timeline looks scary from my perspective when I think about it...

Vietnam in a year

New CS East Front in two years after that

New CS West Front in two years after that

New CS Rising Sun in two years after that

Korean War modification in two years after that

plus all the updates in between

Wow I'll be in my 70's and struggling with the new Windows 13 on a new "who knows who made" laptop with more computing power than a steel mill.

Makes me dizzy thinking about it. I think I'll go back to West Front now, Cheers!

I liked reading these posts. I keep going back to old games now but I do like the Middle East version.

Here I was hoping for a slower pace.
Vietnam out in a year. Redoing ME and VN over the next four or five years. Releasing some other titles in the genre.

Then killing JTCS after that. Don't rush on my behalf.

Maybe a WWI release in between? Make some money off a different offering?
Based around the ME/VN model so lawyers would not be involved?

There are always a few t's to be crossed and i's to be dotted. Patience. As for the next title, Vietnam it is. The next after that, maybe it is better not to ponder about that in public. There is the overall wishlist, and then the internal long term plan as ho we wish to proceed.
