Definitely check out the edits and other threads Webizen has posted this post here primarily focuses on Setting up a Random Scenario with some simple edits and how to save it - goes into a little more depth in saving. This is based on choosing a "Standard Random Game" and then doing some tweaks but may apply to the other Random game choices. This will show you how to Edit the Regime Name the graphics of it and so you can now create a random scenario and play with the name of the regime you want AND pic its own colors and flag associated with the Regime you want to play with or against or even be allied to.

Ok so click on Standard Random Game and then choose how you want the random game set up via the "Make Random Scenario Gold" screen which is the first screen you see. Make sure to also click on the Extra Settings button at the bottom and set those up for example you can choose on these screens the map size, one town, stone age, no roads whatever then click on the MAKE button - now things get important.

You can see the map it makes if you like the map then you should probably save this scenario even if you do not like the names or peoples maybe save it cause this thread will show you how to change the names and peoples and some other stuff. If you click the back red arrow button at this point you loose everything currently you have just created a scenario and if you click start the scenario will be started and I do not think you can edit it after this (because you will maybe be saving a game file rather than a scenario file) but even if you can it is best to as soon as you create a scenario and you like the map to save it.

In order to save it click on the EDIT button now you go to Another screen on this screen there is not ANY save button immediately shown but in order to access the save button click on the blue looking computer button at the bottom LEFT corner of the screen if you mouse over this it will read (at the top of this window) System Options (pref, save, quit)

so click on this bluish button and you will see the save button at the bottom right area of the screen give this scenario a file name you can remember. Ok once you do all of that if you mess something up you can just load this scenario via the main game screen.

Ok when now let's edit some stuff.

You should see a bunch of grey buttons with names and abbreviated words - letters next to them. I have used Webizens graphic below and cropped it thanks buddy.

Ok so see how the button REG is circled click on this - this takes you to the Regime EDIT area allows you to edit Regimes. in the event you made a scenario with two Regimes they will be showing. you then click on a Regime to edit it.

When you click on a Regime you now have the ability to mouse over - hover your mouse over a grey button and see what it does.

CHANGING STUFF - Click on the NAME button it will have a regimes name next to it now you can change the name of the Regime if you hit cancel it wipes out the name anyway so name it something. you can click the correct grey button to change the color of the pieces you use. AI FALSE means it is set to human. So you can make the Regime AI controlled here but this is easier done on the first page. Besides changing the names and colors of the units I like to change the flags too this you do by finding the box which is on this page that reads Property sheets there are four choices to click on Statistics, Regime Slots, blah blah blah Webizen already mentioned in a thread how to tweak alliances this is where it is done so click on one of these names in the Property Sheet area and you will see other stuff to do. CLICK ON STATISTICS -

This causes stuff to pop up on the bottom left the edits here get a little tricky but are cool here you can change the flags that are with the side you want to play on.

NOTE - make sure you save these edits AFTER you do them maybe even change the file name of the scenario in case you want to re edit it or you mess up something. Ok so click Statistics you may see some thing like this:

well see the post below

Ok so click on Statistics and you see something like this in the pic below

What you can do now is click on the blue arrows - because a specific Regime is highlighted which you can see above and then because you clicked on the word Statistics you can now get to these blue arrows to edit more stuff. you originally clicked on the name of the Regime so you could do all of this

ok when you click on blue arrow you can change the flag associated with this regime the one that is highlighted that you clicked on earlier. so click on the top blue arrow notice this graphic is larger than the lower one so then a window pops up you are now in the ADVANCED TACTICS GOLD - Graphics Folder this is a subfolder of Advanced tactics gold now the thing to do is to open up or click on the folder called " at2 " you should see it when you clicked on the blue arrow this folder has other folders in it - choose one of the flag folders for example the Englishflags folder. You must be inside the at2 folder to see the ENGLISHFLAGS folder so double click on the Englishflags folder to open it up you may initially see NOTHING but thats ok. You need two files in it - you need first the larger graphic file because you clicked on the blue arrow having the larger graphic FIRST get this window to show .png files it may be showing .bmp files only so click on the thing near open and cancel button to change which files are shown make sure it shows .png files. Now you should see graphics of the flags - Scroll down and pick whichever one you like keeping in mind that these are the ones for Englishflags in this location and you can go to the another folder and choose ones for some other peoples too. Choose the larger graphic the smaller graphic is to be used with this larger graphic and will be done later. Click on the flag you want and choose OPEN and wham it changes the graphic

click on the other blue arrow to choose the smaller graphic that goes with this flag. These graphics will be on your units.

do not forget to SAVE !!!

You can also edit the map check out Webs post just click on the different grey buttons and see what they do click on the Map button to edit the map remember you must click on the PICK DRAW TYPE button at the top of the screen you come to after you click on the grey map button to edit stuff on the map. Click on Road for example then default road and then when you click on the map it paints it in. You can add a city anywhere you want too. But this is more involved and I forgot how you must then I think click on the map and then on the HEX button to edit stuff for it. To place a unit on the map you eventually click on the Hex button or something.

But at least you can customize your Regime names and your flag and colors.
