Ok, nice answers.

I can remember chiding Jocke for not invading Honshu against Obvert. He had fought that far, suffered so much, how could you not want to do the ultimate Allied Fan Boy thrill?

Because it Could have been even worse than him trying for Korea, and you know how much that cost!

Without stacking limits in that game he could have done it, but with SL it's a lot harder to get off the beachheads.

Hokkaido is the HI, and if you can get there, there is very little reason to go to Honshu/Kyushu. It has plentiful good airfields and ports, and those will allow the Allies to stifle the rest easily.

I've looked at ranges from Hokkaido to the rest of the HI, and I would like better bases closer the opposite end of HI from Hokkaido.

Okinawa can hit the rest from that side, or China, or Korea if you go there. No need for Honshu/Kyushu is all I mean.

But Shikoku can be a nice little enclave - three bases, limited access by land. Close to Hiroshima, Osaka and Nagoya. Great place to put bombers with shorter range,

Still moving as needed in China. Might have caught some Imperials on the road between Kweilin and Hengyang, will attack if they are still in hex tomorrow. DAW HQ is dispatching units west out of Kweiyang to keep an exit open for units still off that road to the south. We should be able to block them.

Highest disruption at Singapore is 24%, so I'm guessing two more days of rest. The division and brigade from the NW have entered Palembang and taken up attack positions for the day after tomorrow. The forces from the SW have made 22 miles and will remain in move mode for another day.

The NZ 15th Bde has reached Digos and will attack.

The IJN must have felt vibes from our discussions about what is left of the IJN and decided to be heard!

There are still 4 units seen at Nago but troop count is down to ~18,000. Tomorrow's attack will be larger as all remaining assault units will participate, but all the battleships will be working at Kume-Jima. I don't think that will be a hindrance.

The landing at Kume-Jima went very well with even the landing craft gunboats disabling a number of defender squads. Our troops must rest. Both combat engineer units are hors de combat and will sit in rest mode, perhaps for the remainder of the battle depending on how quickly they recover squads. Given the casualties on the first day we do not even outnumber the defenders, so the effective naval and aerial bombardments are making the difference. AV is 83, 80of that in the USA 102nd IR.

The troops at Amami Oshima are ready for an attack but will wait another day to get disruption as low as possible. AV is 981.

The Takao invasion will land beginning tonight. One convoy lagged a hex behind, 3 hexes from Takao, but with no shock attack required it will be fine if they land only part of their charges the first day.

China.

Like them fine. Those were the uncensored reports of their captains expressing frustration with lack of targets!

Our subs <REDACTED>

The Empire's troops beating feet away from Kweilin slipped away before our troops could target them. Our troops, though, were targeted by numerous Imperial death gliders but the heavy terrain protected them. Our own P-51B and P-38L punished enemy troops in the open 1 hex to the east, despite a P-38L strike being intercepted. With more air support now available at Kweilin we have moved in 4x squadrons of P-47D both to CAP our own troops and escort strikes against enemy formations.

Highest disruption at Singapore is 20% with many of the divisions still in the teens. AV is 3,791. Only 2 miles to go at Palembang - crossing tomorrow for sure. The two units in place will deliberate attack to support the river-crossing shock attack. Ghost ship patrol.

Our subs <REDACTED>

The USA 31st ID is about 3 days away from Canton. There are two more combat engineer units and another artillery unit farther behind but they will reinforce the attack in progress. A change in plan regarding the air drops. The Lushai Bde will fly from Pakhoi where they are being sea lifted to right now. That will split up the air transport load among three bases. In two days most of the Bde will be there and we should be able to air drop on the third day. Units will still be pulling into Kukong, but there are already enough there to begin attacking so three days will be fine. Our armoured cars aiming to cut the road junction north of Kweilin came under attack by Imperial bombers today but I think they will still get there ahead of the IJA. Reinforcements will be almost a week behind them at that point so they will have to dig in and perhaps rely on air support too.

Palembang went well.

2 small units remain behind as rear guard, but our 3 divisions will rest while the armor ejects them. Three base forces will begin landing in two days, as will a Rgt preparing for Hengchun to the south. Recon now shows Imperial troops abandoning that dead end, no doubt to make a coordinated stand at Taihoku.

China.

Wow, 2 turns while I was sleeping. Can't remember something like this :P

Well, I was right in predicting Formosa was quite empty. But still, Takao falling so fast is very good. Extremely good airfield for use in China also.

Also nice to see both Nago and Kure-jima cleared. Things are going well there. But well I must admit I am mostly waiting for combat at Singapore now...

The Empire also flew cover over their troops in the open escaping Kweilin and our P-47D2 groups did not escort the P-38L and P-51B strikes. Our boys got the worst of it. See air losses below.

Latter stages of movement on all current targets is going well. The weather prediction for tomorrow is clear and enough of the Lushai Bde is unloaded at Pakhoi that I have decided to move up the Kanhsien air assault by a day. As mentioned before most or all 2EB in the area will hit the target while 3x Bde air drop and assault. 6x groups of P-51D will sweep overhead.

At Singapore, one division is at 12% disruption, but rather than wait longer the order is given to attack tomorrow, AV is 3,874. Palembang's defenders are trying to negotiate retaining ownership of the oil fields.

After these sea battles the first Allied raid of the day against Amami Oshima to arrive was a group of USMC dive bombers with escort. They found a large LRCAP about 6x the size of their escort. It was a tough day for them. Some strikes found gaps in the coverage and others powered through. Raids escorted by Thunderbolts did pretty well. See air losses below.

AV at Amami Oshima is 1,016 and the troops are further rested. Attack tomorrow.

Some idiot forgot to order the tanks at Takao to attack. Heads are gonna roll! The armor attacks tomorrow while the divisions rest another day.

China.
