This one is 4th in the Northern Fury battleset and is fairly small but complex. It is playable by both sides and should be challenging even as the WP player.

The situation is that a very small defence force has been set up on Jan Mayen Island (its way up there north east of Iceland). The Kiev battle group has the task of suppressing the defences prior to an airborne drop to secure the base.

The NATO player has two tasks, 1)survive with as much as you can, 2)detect and inflict damage on the Soviets

Played as WP side and as you indicate its relatively straightforward, the various drops etc all went off well. In the end the main damage was done by BMP's which might need revising to BMD's ideally? It wouldn't make any difference to the outcome of the scenario mind.
I wasn't so sure whether I was meant to engage the fishing boats or not to be truthful.
Scenario looks complete to me, I wasn't sure if you wanted the missions to be available for player side, a couple of odd spellings might be worth a look as well, Keflavik I think being one.

Looking forward to the next assault!

The original was built before the BMDs were in the DB, I'll fix that - and the spelling. Regarding the fishing boats, they are not legitimate targets but they are enemy flagged, however, with the note in the brief to conserve ammunition, I wanted the WP player to make his own call.

The missions left active on the WP side are largely the ones not under player's direct control, the Spetz insert, the para drop and the jammers. I will remove the ASW and AEW missions though.

Did you try from the NATO side. Much more challenging. Mind you I got torpedoes into the Kiev on the last couple goes. I think the 688 sub needs a Sea control mission to give the WP player something to think about

the next one is only half complete, its a major amphib operation against Trondheim. I'll try and clean it up and get it out shortly, it won't be in as good a state as the others though. I try and go through them several times before posting them, but if you eager, I'll crank it out. Busy week however.

Thanks for the help. Have you tried NF3 -Dagger to the heart?

Hi Gunner,

first of all thanks for your work, your NF series it's simply amazing!
I'd like to report some odd beahviour I've noticed in this scenario.

Playing with the latest version as NATO, this is what happened... after some initial skirmishes between F-5 and Yak-38, I was expecting a ground strike mission from the carrier, but nothing happened. Only AAW Sweep and a single ASW plane ever came close to the airbase.
After a few hours some air transport approached but they suddenly turned around not far from Jan Mayen and went back home! That was good for me since I didn't had any Sidewinder left.
Finally the 2nd wave approached, they managed to drop the paratroopers but after that they lingered over the airbase and got shredded by my SAM that were fully stocked and eager for targets.

After checking with the editor, I suspect that the ground strike mission didn't fire because the Yaks were out of range, and the first wave of transport planes also had to abort the mission because of lack of fuel. Maybe the latest patches that changed the fuel behaviour caused this mess to the strike timing? I think the Kiev should be moved closer to the base or maybe the trasport planes needs to be delayed...just my 2 cents.

Thanks for that Trueknite, now on my list for fixes. I think your correct about the fuel consumption, that's affected a couple other things as well.

Using build 820 but not getting any errors. There are still errors in the Scenario Pack 31 version but in the version uploaded here and on the community thread it should be fine.

Please let me know if it continues.
