Oscars strafing. Just part of a maximum aerial assault on Sian today. Tired of fighting for it. Need to move on to Chungking and Chengtu.

Upgrading to Judy, Tony, more Zekes.

Oscars are pretty much done upgrading, and I will be going into the West Coast Operation with a stockpile of 300. 150 Tojo IIa in stockpile, and will have 150 Tojo IIb in pools. 5.3 full squadrons of Tojos for with all but one going to the West Coast.

All Oscar squadrons that were bombing and strafing in China are now heading for the upcoming offensive.

On Dec 1 we start producing Lilly divebombers, and they will all go to the SRA. Squadrons are already earmarked with 70 skill naval bombing Army pilots.

Allies bombing Chittagong almost every day...another battle at Silchar and forts are knocked down again. Still,I have hopes of holding for a while yet as the odds are 1-1 with 20% in reserve no pursuit.

End of November, 1942

The 4 patrol craft circled below sank an I boat yesterday. It is a long run, but I have set up a trap, with the Iboats all concentrating, and a destroyer squadron making the long run to meet them.

I have high hopes that those ships will be destroyed...

All sunk. I know the Lawrence, Clive and Indus - but what the heck is a Yandra? Funny looking ship that went down really fast.

The aftermath of my little trap. Zeroes and Oscars are flying LRCAP here, but are not needed.

All the submarines concentrated, and the Allied hunter killer group was drawn to it like flies to honey.

Because the run was so long, the destroyer squadron got there for a daytime engagement, and will now flee...can they make it back.

Over at Chittagong an xak is dropping off supply. Will the Allies sortie against Chittagong? Down at Akyab a powerful IJN Cruiser force is spotted (3/6 dl) and five more xaks are dropping off supplies.

I suspect there may be fireworks on the morrow.

Production of the 61-1a is now 32 a month. I need to fill out two squadrons, the first just recombined today. It has taken 50 days to fill this squadron - starting from 0 production. It will be another 40 days to fill the second squadron fully.

I only get two squadrons, and they both get removed in 44 which is an evil trick.

Both squadrons will be in the Burma area...ideally waiting on the big Magwe bombing runs sure to come but because of limited pools, will be assigned a further back base to protect....Rangoon comes to mind or the SRA oil.

I am trying to bushwhack the Allied forces (naval and air) around Chittagong. Let's see if it works...

The amphib TF will stop unloading and move to the northeast and remain on station. I should have a fairly strong LRCAP over that hex, and since there is also 1 Allied ground unit there, I will sweep too. I am really doing everything I can to get the Allies to turn on some naval bombing.

I am moving in a strong SAG to Chittagong, along with a sub (needs refueling). They will retire with the dawn to Akyab.

A squadron of Vals and Oscars stand ready at Akyab to catch any stragglers.

Of course, heavy night time naval search, plus daytime search.

So, I am looking to score with a fresh minefield, or the mines at Chittagong, along with a CAP trap, and possible engage in a nice surface action with a potential naval strike over any stragglers.

Combined action...goodness!

End of Nov, 1942

I accidentally left a squadron of Betties on Port strike after transferring their base, and they fly into 20 Airacobras. I hope Jocke likes the gift.

Bombing Cloncurry, but hits on fresh resources are hard to come by now.

A nice bombardment at Chittagong.

Here is a look at 1943 Fighters and their rough, most likely underestimated arrival dates. The Tony 100i by mid to 3rd Qtr 43 for example. The A6M5c will probably arrive sooner too.

A look at fighters for 1943

Current:

Tojo IIb
Oscar IIb
A6M5
A6M2
Tony 61a
Nick A

Early 43:

A6M5b
Oscar IIIa
Tojo IIc

Mid43:

N1K1 George
Frank a
A6M5c

3rd Qtr 43

Tony Ki61-b
Tony Ki61-c
Tony Ki61-d
J2M2 Jack
J2M3 Jack
A6M8
Oscar IV

Fourth Qtr
Frank R
Tony Ki-100i

Assuming no autovictory in 43...these are the fighters that will counter the Jugs and Corsairs in 43.

Off the list is Sam...I have 10 factories going after this beauty, but don't have a guess as when it will start production. June 44 maybe?

Early stuff. Big commitment to the Sam, Frank and Tony line. When will you get the Ki-84b and r?

Huge investment in the Frank A and Sam a total of 19 r&d factories... Those planes are so key. About half as much in the Tony line...but because I have repaired factories and engine bonus it really can accelerate the 100I. My goal with the Tony line is to not accelerate the B (6/43) the C comes in at 9/43 and to accelerate the D to 9/43 to 12/43 and then move everything to the 100I model pretty much.

The 84B has only one factory, so a rough guess would be one month early. Not that great. PDU off it is an important plane since quite a few squadrons upgrade to it and I might be able to scrounge another factory for it when the Oscar/Zero line peter out.

The r really depends upon how much of the A I put into r&d of it and how much I put into immediate production. But a rough guess would be late 43 to very early 44. Also depends upon keeping the engine bonus.

My bomber r&d is pretty minimal. Judy and Jill both have three sets of factories. Grace has 2. The others, oh well pretty much.

Early 44 is very early for the Ki-84r. It will do very well at this kind of date. Jocke will not be happy as he already dislikes that plane!

My thinking on the Frank R is that I might switch the first two to three repaired Frank A factories to it immediately upon being repaired. I am still pondering this.

The Frank A comes already early in the game (1/44). Additionally, the upgrade path is Oscar IIb to Frank A, Tojo IIc to Frank A and Oscar IV to Frank A basically.

Then Frank A to Frank R most of the time although Frank A had dedicated squadrons for the rest of the game including the monster 100 plane senatai.

So basically, as soon as I field the Frank A, I could also field the Frank R with about 5 to 7 squadrons. I have been kind of thinking of the blow to Jocke's morale at seeing the Frank R very, very early.

So I need to weigh which I want sooner...The Frank A or the Frank R. But no matter what I do, I will get both very early.

The Allies have removed my Paratrooper roadblock, with AFVs no less, and the railroad is open to Cloncurry. I bombed one day after, and rested my Oscars looking to sweep Cloncurry. I messed up the orders and no sweep the following day, but as expected 24 Airacobras' showed up at Cloncurry.

I called off the bombing, fearing this eventuality, and now the Kates are at Darwin resting. The two squadrons will relocate to a central location and be ready to defend either the SRA or the Burma theater.

I am having the Oscars sweep today...but maybe too late.

Cloncurry lost 350 or so resource points. A nice little haul. I think I lost two planes to ops.

2nd Tank Division Forms.

3rd Tank Division arrives in 3 days, then some travel time to get the pieces all together. Won't be long.

British CVs. Gosh, I hope there are still two American CVs here, as well.

Ousted from Silchar. Allies pick up 70 vp from land combat losses in the retreat. But look at all the troops here. Plus there are at least 2 Marine Divisions at Chittagong, and plenty of other American troops and Australian.

India is one big misdirection. I want him to move on Imphal, Ledo and into the jungle. Anything to prevent, slow down an Amphibious deep invasion once the magnitude of the West Coast Operation becomes apparent.

The loss of 70 lcu VP is well worth it, imho.

One more attack on Sining and it will be mine. Nice VP there...

The road is cleared to the south, with large loss of Chinese life.

The block east of Kienko is stubborn, nowhere to retreat for them, but it shall fall in a week most likely.
