hi,

Started some fresh games in 1.03 and have the following issues:

Sevastapol - now a major City which should still get seaborne supply according to the patch notes, however units there are showing as out of supply (as if its still a minor city). This is in both games currently being played.

Gorki - is a major city, but I can't place a major garrison there. I can however place a minor garrison - is this correct?!

cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,

Gorki is too far to the rear to qualify for a major garrison. Any Marshal putting scarce resources into defending such a bolt hole could expect a knock on the door.

Sevastapol should indeed receive seaborne supply. I'll take a look.

Cheers,
Cameron

Hi Steve,

Fixed. Supply only flows through major city ports. As there was no other major city port in the Black Sea (apart from Odessa) nothing was happening. I've given the Mayor of Sukhumi an upgrade package. New streets, flowers and a shiny new port. He's a happy man.

It's in the next update.

Cheers,
Cameron

Having given it some thought I don't see this as much of an answer I'm afraid.

I reckon Sukhumi is easily reachable by the Axis player, probably before rasputita given the incentive to send 11th Army that way now - Krasnodar certainly is which will cut the supply line anyway.

This then gives the Axis 1-2 more major objective cities that are accessible.

Try to look at it this way. Sukhumi is way down the Black Sea coast, almost near the border with Turkey. If the Germans manage(d) to get that far the Russians would have been pushed away from the Black Sea altogether. That indeed leaves no lifelines in that region to supply Sebastopol from. Alternatives would have been to push supplies through Turkey (politically not likely) or bring supplies into the Black Sea basin from the outside via the Bosporus/Istanbul, an enormous detour. I think the fix for the bug you discovered is correct.

Hi Steve,

The Mayor of Sukhumi is standing firm. He's not keen on handing back his brand new port.

As Ramses has pointed out, if the Mayor goes under, it's all over for the Black Sea anyway.

Cheers,
Cameron
