Combat Report for October 17, 1942 The 17th was a good day for the Allies as follows: 1.) An Allied Destroyer escorting fuel transports to Pearl hits Japanese Submarine four times off the Coast of San Francisco. 2.) The Allies destroy 6 Japanese aircraft and damage 7 in China. 3.) The Allies destroy a handful of Japanese Infantry squads at Adak Island. 4.) Allied Bombers from Anchorage have flown to Kodiak and tomorrow will fly to Dutch Harbor. On the 19th, the bombers will bomb Japanese ground forces on Adak island. 5.) The Allies only casualties were two destroyed aircraft in China. If El Lobo doesn't land more than the one Japanese Infantry Division presently on Adak Island, the Allies will most likely hold Adak Island. Allied Coastal Guns Hammer Japanese at Adak Island!
