In the air over Santa Ana the Jugs come after several Warhawk sweeps and really clean up.

For whatever reason, my low CAP tries to climb to 20,000+ and really gets destroyed by three squadrons of Jugs, that have no doubt the best pilots Jocke can throw at me.

I will alternate back up to a high cap tomorrow I think.

I think it's the lack of radar warning. I'd like to be seeing those results in my game against Erik, but he's getting radar warning that is putting his CAP above my sweeps denying me the bounce.

My guess is you were picked off one by one as your CAP tried to climb and saw a lot of directly behind combats?

Oops, forgetting you are in 1943 and Jocke's P-47's aren't facing Franks, Georges and Jacks.

I think I would have done much better if I flew high cap...our ceiling is now 30K.

But the Allies are sweeping at 25K which is a good decision for them.

I knew the air battle would be harsh...

I knew the land battles would be brutal...

I thought my battleships might damage his troops more...

Almost all troops unloaded...I feel that LA will hold but it will be a huge fight! So far I think I can still accomplish my goal...of burning San Diego...although I am worried that the forts are sky high there.

We shall see! At least two USA Divisions at San Diego.

Choices....

History has taught me not to mess with trying to penetrate the Allied Carriers but rather attack the landing.

Here is a sitrep.

I think I know which two hexes the Allied Carriers will end up in...the CVE will probably end up in the invasion hex.

There are 80 mines on two Iboats west of Tavoy not mentioned in the picture.

I am pondering an all out attack...focus a ton of search very narrowly and let lose all the Betties and Nells, send in the destroyers and move the cruisers into a supporting position. Swamp the area in deep water with subs.

The Betties and Nells can all fly in at 30K with escorts.

Use Lilly Divebombers at range 11 at 15K to splinter the CAP.

So I either hit Port Blair or the hex south or east of it.

Moonlight is 92 percent and waning. Forecast is thunderstorms.

The other thought is to send the two destroyer squadrons into Little Andaman on the supposition that will be the least protected invasion.

The yellow arrows represent 11 hexes...from Rangoon or Moulmein (identical for both).

Chungking

I will cycle the trashed Division out and back to garrison another close city, while 2 fresh divisions head for Chungking.

Next attack in a week or so. 7 Days. Continued aerial bombardments and artillery bombardments will hit the Chinese defenders.

Neikiang is up to a level 5 runway, just 2 hexes away...will fly in an air HQ to improve the bombers performance there.

Okay, turn is away.

Probably a big update later today, a turn tomorrow and then at least a week off.

This next turn will be very bloody, very bloody.

At Port Blair, a lone IJN destroyer makes a stand....she hits the Resolution, and scratches here.

Range starts at a very close 1000 yards...
