I will want to reinstall WITW. I have a serial number for both WITW and Torch, do I need to install both, or just Torch?

Reinstall the first game.

The start menu won't have the UPDATE button yet. So go into the folder and run UPDATE.EXE

After the game updates....install TORCH.

Hit the UPDATE button.

That should work.

Hello

I am trying to install Torch on a new computer running Windows 10.

I am able to install WITW with no problems. I did the update as suggested by Liquid Sky. When I load the DVD I am able start the installation (Run as Administrator) but get this error message"

irsetup
Failed to open output file.

Anyone encounter this problem and if so, what's the fix?

Thanks!!

add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one if any of them was to blame.

That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is or could be interfering with the game or update installation.

run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.

please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.

please make sure you are running the latest game version and have up to date drivers installed on your pc,

If you have the original version. So you'll need to update it from the Internet.
Please note that you'll only need the last update, as the updates are comprehensive. (not needed with steam)

and if all else fails,

Just open a tech support ticket or contact http://www.matrixgames.com/support/ with your order details (order reference number or/and email address used when placed the order) and they will provide you with new download links, so the DVD version won't be needed, good luck

I can't get this to work. I install the base game, then Torch, but when I go to update from Torch 1.01 I get the message

'Unable to download file.
An error occurred while trying to open an FTP file."

Anyone any suggestions?

Have you tried to download patches manually?

E.g. either Members Club or ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub

Thanks Sardaukar, finally got it to work! In case anyone else is interested, I installed base game from disc and then manually loaded 1.037 from matrix.
