Priceless...

When he pulled up in a closed pattern to land and threw the gear down, he looked at the runway. It was still burning. His fire had lit up all the rubber from the skid marks from aircraft landing!

Here is a similar Strike Eagle article from the same authors:

I'd been wondering when Rogway's articles were going to start showing up on The Drive. Foxtrot Alpha has sorely missed him.

Thanks for sharing!

He has been busy there for some months now, you have some catching up to do ;)

I remember riding as the passenger in a jeep during REFORGER 1984 in West Germany as a company commander on my way to a meeting at brigade headquarters. We were driving along the crest of a ridge and I heard an engine sound and looked around and saw an F-111 BELOW me in the valley coming my way. A second later it went nearly right over my head just a few feet over me and dipped back below my level and was gone. Just an amazing sight.

Nice! That is awesome. I remember anecdotes of Vulcan bombers doing the same, e.g. a RAF officer looking down on a Vulcan passing below him from Masirah Control Tower.
Natural enough for an F-111 but you wouldn't necessarily expect a huge bomber doing this.

I worked on the FB 111 Flight Simulators at Plattsburgh AFB from 84-88. What an amazing fighter/bomber. Now, it wasn't love at first sight mind you, but the old girl really grows on you!
