I would like some help with WITP AE switches for windows 10 and a high end machine. I used to play Witp AE on an old machine with windows 7 and now I play at quarter the speed. Here are current my switches:

a space and -altFont -archive -deepColor -px1366 -py768 -fixedArt -noFire -SingleCpuOrders

I have windwos 10. 64 bit. i7-6700 CPU @ 3.4 GHZ 16 GB RAM memory

The above thread is very helpful. But the biggest change on my windows d was chaning from -f to -w.

It made a huge difference. However, I now have a taskbar blocking lots of game information at the bottom.

Thanks...yes I have that now. This is running well now...and I'll try some additional switches in a bit. I'd rather go small on resolution just to see the screen and perhaps get the bottom of the page to not get covered up by task bar or cut short. I'm loosing just a line or two there.

Biggest improvements were the -w and -dd switches.

-cpu4 -multiaudio -deepColor -dd_sw -w -px1920 -py1080

-deepColor fixed my speed issues just mind the spelling, it must be exact or it wont work (at least not for me).

AFAIK your problem is the path to Autorun.exe, it should point to the WITPAE exe directly,
so create a fresh shortcut to the exe and then add the switches.
Hope that helps and you can run the game normally again.

To be clear my path looks like this, still in windows 7 though:

"D:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -deepColor -altFont
