How do I calculate the military strenght, that is shown in the diplomacy and empire comparison tabs?
I know that the number in the empire overview with the yellow lightning bolt is simply the firepower added up. But the two seem unrelated to me.
Adding a ship with 420 firepower adds 251 military strenght.
A different ship has 572 firepower and results in 354 military strenght.

I dont see any linear correlation here, what am I missing?

Spaceport firepower is for sure contributing in some way. So any bases being built could confuse things.

I would also not be surprised if troop strength is involved, but I do not know. So could it be that ether a troop is lost/recruited or that some base is being built between your "before and after" numbers?
