Hi guys,

Having some freezing here since doing the update.

Using v1.11 SR4. It hangs nearly everytime I try click on something. Attached is a saved file, hopefully will have some form of idea what is happening. Not operating like it used to, which was very smooth without issues. I'm checking my system but the only thing different is the new Windows 10 anni update that happened.
Only other new addition in the game is CMANO LIVE scenario 1 added. I've done a check of the cache in steam and it found 21 files it needed to fix, still the same issue afterwards.

Only other thing I can think of is GPU processing? Does CMANO only process graphics on the CPU?

i5, Win 10, 8GB RAM.

Adding some more info to hopefully help. I tried loading the Live 1 episode and CMANO crashed to desktop immediately. Tried starting CMANO back up and gives me a window
"Error found during application startup. Error details: access is denied."

Clicking on Ok to go past error message, CMANO loads but gives the following:

CMANO kind of loads but with no world or data displayed, more like a shell and then has another error window like above and I have to click on exit on the error window to get out as CMANO crashes.

Tried multiple times to restart CMANO now, no luck, can't get into it anymore haha.... aaah there goes my weekend of wargaming :P

Looking forward to any ideas when everyones back. Thanks Mike.

First try deleting your command.ini . This file stores your settings and options and this will reset them to the defaults as the file is written again at launch. It does clear up bizarre issues though if there is something there.

Beyond that I'd try reinstalling Steam Command completely. That 21 bad file thing concerns me as I haven't seen that before.

Full team trickles back in over the work week.

Yeah, deleted command.ini which helped it seem to load up faster to the start menu screen but crashed soon after while at the beginning of a tutorial scenario when clicking to view a ship profile. Will reinstall.

Hi Brad

Can you try going to the members area downloads and grabbing the latest patch installer file?

You should point the installer at your current command directory when asked.

Let me know how it goes.

Mike

I'm having the same problem. I uninstalled the game, did a clean install with latest updates/patches, still freezes shortly after starting. Only recent change to my computer is that I installed the Windows 10 anniversary update.

Hi fps91a, have you tried the installer update from the members area yet? I'm having issues logging in to get it but will try asap. Also did you install the latest Nvidia drivers update? As I did a couple days ago, wondering if thats a factor too.

I' have reset your account password and sent you the password via your Ticket#2016082910000081.
I've noticed that your haven't registered your CMANO game in your Matrix Members account.
You need to register the game serial number so that you can access to the game file installer and update via the Matrix members area.

Hi VPaulus, excellent, thanks, will check the inbox and register the game serial (its steam) and give it a shot, hopefully the patch sorts it. Thanks guys, will update soon, hands a little busy at the mo.

If it's a Steam version then you can't register the serial number.
Please also note that the Steam client will update the game automatically (as default) with the last patch, so you don't need to download it from the Member's area.

Ah huh... ok, Mike... sorry man, then in that case haha it ain't workin still as it already has all the updates. Perhaps its a Windows 10 issue with the latest update? There was an Nvidia update as well for the Win10 Anni update, not sure if any others have also done those latest updates and experienced my issues too.

Thanks Paulo for the assistance in reseting my password though!

Took a longer monitor of CMANO while running after loading a scenario and watched the resources monitor on Windows.
CPU averages moves between 7 and 11% (just for the command.exe process. The freezing just happens without even doing anything or clicking on units or navigating however if clicking on something or navigating it does freeze, however as it freezes without any action too, it might not be activated by clicking or through any input by the user, might just be something in the processing that seems to be freezing?

It is loading though unlike yesterday where it just crashed after loading up and didn't have any globe showing etc. That was only after a reboot though. I haven't selected the LIVE scenario though in case it does it again, really not wanting to reinstall everything again ;)

Hope the above helps try pinpoint.

Ok sorry Brad. I don't like making you do stuff but had to be sure it wasn't some weird steam thing.

I spoke with one of our programmer today and he's looking at the issue. I hope to have an update for you on this soon.

Just as an aside you said you got the windows vid card update but have you made sure is the latest from the manufacturer?

Mike

Hi Mike, no I understand completely, the only way we going to catch this bug is to eliminate possibilities as at the moment its unplayable this side.
Great stuff, hopefully they can find the issue.

On the Nvidia card update, it was straight from Nvidia, I never let Windows update 3rd party, it always breaks things so it's the latest Nvidia driver, rechecked it a couple hours ago for a new one perhaps and was still the same (think it was released a few days ago). Haven't had issues though with any other sims (yet).

Only other possibility I can think of from this side is to uninstall Nvidia and reinstall the previous version and see if CMANO still has an issue. However, not something I want to try as all my settings are in there for other sims and programs. I'll see how my day is tomorrow but will try squeeze in an Nvidia reinstall if possible and let you know the result. Will check here first in case there's been progress.

Thanks Mike.

Lol it crashes on a null-reference exception on mouse stuff. Is windows not taking all params with it when it delivers the event to the sim? Hmmm...

If you're able to start the game, could you go to the Options menu and enable Detailed Debug Logging. And then restart the game? When the game crashes, close it, and send us the Exceptions log file from the \Command\Logs directory.

Thanks!

Uploaded a screenshot of the crash just before clicking on the quit button. Struggling to get back in now after clicking on the close on the start menu after it loaded.

Trying to verify the cache again to see if it will repair anything as it's not starting up anymore, says the error reason is: Access denied.

edit: oh, in the more info bit, it's the same as the data posted above that I copy pasted.

update:

No, I validated, found no file errors but now still unable to restart, just crashes. Sorry emsoy, I tried to get to that debug option but mission failed. Any ideas?

update 2: Rebooted, managed to get in (hmm windows related then?) but can't find "detailed debug logging" option you mentioned. Exact menu path?

Besides when it decides to crash and gives the above pasted text, it just freezes every few seconds, will the debug display what is causing that?

Thanks emsoy

Load game.
On the main screen, select from the top bar, Game->game options.
The 'log debug information..' should be on the first page (General) toward the bottom.

or you can edit the command.ini
[Game Preferences]
LogDebugInfoToFile = True

Could you try to manually edit the INI file, start the game, make it crash, and then post the ExceptionLog file?

Thanks!

Busy with it now. Just another bug I've noticed, when zooming in my mouse disappears to the main screen center. Zooming out it has no effect (zooms out properly). I have zoom on mouse position selected. I'm running the game on the larger screen plugged into my laptop.
Disabling zoom to mouse function to see if it also defaults the mouse to the main screen... works fine. Seems there's a bug on the zoom in function with "zoom on mouse" selected.

Currently trying the sub tutorial, still freezing every few seconds, especially when selecting on practically everything.

Yes! Eventually it crashed. Log file uploaded. Actually seems like there's history since 28th there. Have fun! Hopefully there is something there that will help. I'm not sure if it logs any reasons why its freezing so much.

Hi Brad,

Can you do me a favor an unsubscribe from all Command scenarios you might be from the steam workshop. Let us know if the behavior continues after?

Mike

Great news Mike, that seems to have fixed it. However I also disabled the Grudge CMANO LIVE 1 scenario. Will try it again tomorrow with it enabled. I unsubscribed all from the Steam Workshop and then unchecked the LIVE scenario in steam before loading. No freezing at all. I noticed though, after unsubscribing from the workshop, it still appeared in the scenario tree in the game, is it meant to do that?

On the mouse issue though, it still centers on the main screen when zooming in if using external screen.

Hope the above helps. Will give it another go tomorrow hopefully if I have time and try a little longer, great to be able to play it again though. Thanks Mike.
