The world owes an enormous debt to a quiet, steady Russian naval officer who probably saved my life. And yours. And everyone you know. Even those of you who weren�t yet born. I want to tell his story�

I was just lecturing on him last Wednesday. I teach a class on properly using hurricane tracking software for public officials and emergency managers and he is my example of why you just don't take the output from the program and make critical decisions from it without thinking about the output.
