What is the quickest way to raise morale of your pilots, especially carrier pilots?

What mission do you set them for, and at what percentage? If you return a carrier to port and disband the tf, do the pilots get shore leave and become refreshed after a little while?

Morale = Rest, simple as that. Sure you don't mean skill?

The quickest way is to use a dynamic editor.

Because they encrypted the save files.

Ahh well... its just that to asume cheating vanishes because of encryption just means that the GOOD cheaters are never suspected.

But to answer the question w/o cheating...ground the planes.

Transfer them to rear area (non-malaria base such as Truk or Noumea) and let them rest.
Provide them some beer (or sake) and girls.:D

I don't know about you, but I've never found either of those to be very helpful in the rest catagory ;)

I guess I knew it was rest but I was just wondering if there is any way to speed up their recovery rate.

I have no problem putting low morale units on "stand down", its how quickly their morale plummets - especially the Liberator crews. I have crews going to 10 after one successful mission with no losses. this does not seem to occur with B-17 and other level bombers. I'm starting to think Liberators are only good for search or ASW (although I've never seen them sink a sub either).

Well first you have to get the pilots to unwind (you know all those propellers spinning clockwise, or was that conter-clockwise) then they can rest.:D

I've never had any airgroups get that low. As soon as they drop below 50, I rest them and don't reactivate them until they are back above 50. If they drop below 30, I'll send them to Brisbane or Noumea for a few days.

Perhaps your airgroups are dropping so fast due to lack of supply or support. I haven't noticed the B-24s to be especially susceptible, but I haven't really watched that closely either.

When my air group gets to the 50's in morale or 30's in fatigue then I stand them down. My Liberators were in the 70-80's wwith fatigue less than 20. On a successful bombing run, my morale should actually go up, not down, especially with no losses. But with Liberators it seems to plummet. this has been mentioned before by others. To me the morale model should be more stable.

Allied bombers seem pretty suspect to low morale. I've had twin engined bombers get down to morale 10 in one mission. It seems to happen when the bombers fly twice in one day and suffer heavy losses without much success (Hudsons flying long distance strikes against a SC TF at 1000 feet w/o hitting anything). Once one of your groups has a day like this it will be toast for a while, especially if it's got one of those high 50s/low 60s rated leaders. On a related note, allied fighter pilot morale seems to drop if they're used on a regular basis but IJN fighters morale seems to normally go up if they fly, unless they get severely mauled in air to air combat - anyone else notice this?

Just send them back to Brisbane. Check your reinforcment schedule. With the Allied reinforcment schedule set on "moderate" you have a reasonable chance of Bob Hope and Betty Grable showing up in theater by late September or early October at the latest. It is rare but I have observed that if the Japanese player gets a release on the Yamato, then almost always Marlene Dietrich shows up at Noumea as well.
