Hi everybody! I am playing the scenario "Beware of the Badger" of Command: Northern Inferno using the version 1.11 SR4 (Build 839,7) of the game.
I played the same scenario more than one year ago, obviously with a previous version of the game (I don't remember precisely which one).
However, I recall that in the old version there were SAM batteries (Nike Hercules, IIRC) protecting Norway, but I have noticed that in the current version of the game there are no SAM batteries but only coastal forts and minefields as fixed defenses.
Can anyone explain this anomaly?
Thanks in advance.

Ok, thanks for the information. BTW, is it possible to know the reason why you decided to remove the SAM batteries from Norway?. Now, it is a lot more difficult to defend against waves of Soviet bombers by relying on the F104s, armed only with short-range missiles, and on the embarked F4s.
Thanks

If you have a version of the game with an editor you can add them back no problem.

Thanks for your suggestion.
However, I asked the reason(s) behind the decision of removing the SAMs from Norway. If it is based on historical/technological facts and/or other considerations which reflect the military reality of Norway in that period, I accept this change and prefer not to edit the scenario, otherwise I think it was better before the update.
Thanks

The SAMs weren't actually there. Norway had 4 batteries, but they were in the south around the capital.

The latest version of the scens also has much improved strike mission setups which might explain why the Soviet aircraft seem more effective.
