I have 2xPBEM games under beta 1.7.11.25.6 DBB 28. I have a 3rd game about to fire up but I would like him to use the same beta. Where would he find this slightly out-dated beta to download?

I can't tell which one is .6 that you want because they were provided by letter. This one was 'f'. You'll have to run it to see if it's the right one.

Thanks!! I'll let you know if not the one. Is there an easier way to find rather than pestering you?

I also have updates 1125 k, j, m if needed.

AFAIK, there is no archive of prior updates - Michael updates his OP with the latest file each time. I've made it a habit to save each update, you should probably do the same. The good news is that someone on the forums will have a copy of the particular update you need.

+1

I'm just glad they allowed easy uploading of the .zip right in this thread, so it was really no bother.

I wonder why someone would want to continue under an older beta when michaelm states that his new mods are just executable updates and don't affect data or mods. You just basically load up a save game after the newer mod is installed and a box pops up asking if you want to update the saved game and away you go. I've done it twice already.

edit> obviously you both need to be on the same update, but if these updates fix game engine flaws without harming ongoing games, why not?

Good question...I would have to get all my other opponents all upgraded...a pain if old ones readily accessible. The difference is 1 person having to change versus 3 having to.

Michael's beta versions install separately in the 'Beta2' subdirectory of WitPAE - therefore, is it possible to have 'multiple installs' of WitPAE without having to reproduce the entire game directory?

The beta executable is programmed to search for the needed modules in that subdirectory, so you can't simply make 'BetaX' folders to have multiple versions of the game available; however, you could use a tool like the Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler to switch out versions in the 'Beta2' subdirectory to accomplish the same.

Consider obtaining updates from official sources only.

E.g.
