Hello folks,

I have decided to learn about CMANO and modern warfare and I would like to read some books about it, I mean no fiction, just some essays about tactics and post ww2 conflicts.

I would be very happy if you could recommend me some tittles

Thanks you very much

welcome verdugo94,

View this post for some books:

There's others listed around in the forum but those in that link are rather helpful. Enjoy.

I came here to search for exactly the same question. I think a trip to the bookshop is in order...

As a companion to any books you might read, I recently discovered that the excellent Tank Encyclopaedia has a sister website, Naval Encyclopaedia.

I was wondering if anyone has opinions on the recent book
"2017 War with Russia" by Richard Shirreff ?
Is it an exciting read (alla "Red Storm Rising") ?

Reading it now. So far it's interesting but a bit transparent, her certainly has a few axes to grind.

So far it's not in the same category as Red Storm Rising, but I'm only 1/3 the way through it.

I used to work for him so perhaps I know his 'tells'

I've had my eye on that book, the Kindle edition comes out in a couple days and was thinking of getting it. Without spoilers of course, I would like to know how it is compared with Cold War WWIII books like RSR, The War That Never Was, and Hackett's The Third World War.

I know that he is very upset about NATO not preparing enough for a conflict with Russia, so I would like to know whether he presents a solid case with this narrative, or if it is tweaked to fit his argument, obviously I would vastly prefer the former. I do completely agree that Russia poses a serious military threat that needs to be countered, but I don't want the scenario to be over paranoid and such to fit the argument.

So far it's the former. I think he presents the facts as they are. So far I'm not a fan of his style but the arguments are sound.
