Turn 10. Mar/Apr 1941. Allied #6. West Med. Round 1.

The allies isolated the 1-box, use their surprise points to force a surface battle and to increase their naval result by 1 column.

The loaded Italian transport is sunk.

Both sides decide to stay.

Turn 10. Mar/Apr 1941. Allied #6. West Med. Round 2. Axis Surprise the Allies.

I go from the top of the mountain (after sinking the loaded Italian transport) to the abyss when the axis this round find and surprise the allied fleet in the Western Med.

1. Which sea boxes do you wish to include?

2. Naval air or other type of battle?

3. If naval air, how do you wish to fly your Luftwaffe fighters (as fighters or bombers)?

4. How do you wish to use your surprise points?

4. How do you wish to use your surprise points?

1) Engage only your 3-box with 8 SP I believe.
2) Air to Sea battle (Naval air)
3) All fighters will fly as fighters. (Order: Macchi, Bf 110E, G.50, Re.2000, Bf 110D)
bomber order: He 115C, Gabbiano
4) 2 SP to move my A-A up 1, 4 SP to move your A-A down 2 (should put us at +2/-3 respectively)
If your bomber makes it through, use 2 SP to move you attack down 1 column (to ne, I believe).
If your bomber did not make it through, use my last SP to move your AA column down 1.
4a) Apply my result against your transport carrying the 5-4 MOT.

Turn 10. Mar/Apr 1941. Allied #6. West Med. Round 2 (b).

P.S. I forgot to mention that both searches for a third round failed so the naval combat ended after the second.

MA41 i9:
All axis powers take land actions.
CW nimrod in the Bay of Biscay can intercept the Italian bomber ground striking Bilbao. I don't believe any axis fighters could counter-intercept. Will it intercept.

Why not. The RN will intercept.

MA41 i9: Ground strike a-a
It took two rounds, but the bomber cleared and the nimrod aborted.

MA41 i9: ground attack results
Glad these were high odd attacks (and that I decided not to make the lower odds attack in China), since I rolled so poorly (2 and 5). Infantry disorganized and one divisional loss for me, but I took both hexes.

Turn 10. Mar/Apr 1941. Allied #12. RN. Italian Coast. Search.

RN search woes continue off the Italian Coast. The allies roll a 9 and the axis a 1!

1. How would the Italians like to proceed?

2. Also, the allies will attempt to initiate combat in the Western Med? Do the axis wish to add any additional air units? The CW flew an extra fighter and nav unit to the 2-box during the Naval air phase.

I will engage the 2 box only with 9 SP.
Use 4 SP to reduce your attack 2 columns to 2A.
Use 4 SP to increase my attack to X A.

I will abort the sea zone after this round - return to La Spezia.

Bf 109 E2 on the south coast of France will fly out to the 0-box.

Use 4 SP to choose a surface combat.
Use 4 SP to reduce the attack against me to ne.
If I miss counted SP and the attack against me is ne, then use extra SP to move my attack up as far as possible.

Turn 10. Mar/Apr 1941. Allied #2. West Med. Surface Combat (Round 1).

Both sides stay after this initial round.

Allied (second round) search roll is a 10. Naturally, sound I expect anything else.

Fortunately the axis also roll a 10 so combat ends.
