What version do you have? Command, Command Game of the Year or Steam?

Do you still have your disks or downloads?

Thanks!

Mike

Downloads ; and I've successfully installed it on the laptop now...

I ran CommandModernAirNavalOperations-SetupRelease-V1.00.exe
( CommandModernAirNavalOperations-SetupRelease-V1.00.2
CommandModernAirNavalOperations-SetupRelease-V1.00.3 )

It failed to run with Lua error so I ran Visual C libraries as recommended

vcredist_x64.exe
vcredist_x86.exe

These installed into c:\Matrix\Command Modern Naval Air Operations

Then for NI I ran

CommandMANO-CommandNI-SetupRelease-v109.exe
( CommandMANO-CommandNI-SetupRelease-v109.2 )

This installed to c:\Matrix\Command Wargame of the Year Edition

It ran, but wouldn't update....

so I downloaded unzipped and ran CommandMANO-CommandNI-UpdateComp-v111SR5.exe
but changed the suggested install location to c:\Matrix\Command Wargame of the Year Edition

The updater works now, and I have v111SR5

Tell me, is my c:\Matrix\Command Modern Naval Air Operations installation now redundant ?

You should always run Visual C and DirectX regardless.

always run / install as admin, and make sure your Anti virus and Firewall has allowed the install, check logs to see if you have any errors in them

Yeah don't skip stuff during installation if this is what happened. It really does create issues.

No I didn't skip anything, Visual C said later version was already installed...
but anyway I'm happy with the installation (it didn't take long to add vcredist_x86 thanks for forum alerts)

but my question remains, is Matrix\Command Modern Naval Air Operations directory and installation redundant
now that I have Matrix\ Command Wargame of the Year Edition ? (according to the steps I followed in my setup)

thx, Roland

It depends on which directory you pointed to in stall of the updates.

You are missing the point. Even if its installed, you should go through the Direct X and C install anyway.

of course I ran the 3 modules DirectX, Vis C, and net... I never said I skipped them

as stated before:

"so I downloaded unzipped and ran CommandMANO-CommandNI-UpdateComp-v111SR5.exe
but changed the suggested install location to c:\Matrix\Command Wargame of the Year Edition"

Yeah sounds like you've got two installations.

You can check by going into each folder and running the Command.exe file and looking at the version numbers.

Thanks!

I just bought a new ASUS i7 Gaming Laptop ROG_GL502VT has a GTX 970M graphics card...(cost me a pretty penny in the UK) of course the first thing I did was to install CMANO

I have done a webcam clip of the F2 "Slider Jitter" soon ; I tried RECORD button, but couldn't get it to playback.. maybe I need to learn how to use it!
