I finally achieved a major victory with Huskey on normal. I know...big deal after playing for four days. It has become very apparent that air ops is a skill that has to be mastered. I actually had 3rd Armour join the final assault on Messina. I am going to enjoy WitW as much as I did WitP:AE.

I'm glad you like it.

Most common mistake is that players start GC w/o mastering smaller scenarios. Sometimes I think we should lock bigger scenarios until smaller ones are done.

Agreed, I am also in love with this game...
...much more so than WitE, even if the latter seems to enjoy a lot more love from the gamer community !
=> WitW is much more subtle and deep than the massive armwrestle of Eastern Front (which should be). You can achieve great things with relatively few forces (hello French Mountain Regiments) and on the other hand you can mess up big time with huge forces if you don't plan well (hello northern Italy landings). The Axis side is fun to play as well, as you should master a way to balance commitment and conservation of forces.

Well, just wanted to say thank you to dev team !

There's no way I could take on a GC. There's just too much to absorb and learn Then try to apply and experiment with. I am very grateful for the video tuts. Well done.
Again thanks to you all.

I'm a big fan of the game, too. The best I've managed to do so far is a Major (maybe Decisive?) Victory as the Allies in Breakout and Pursuit. It's the initial breakout that's crucial there. It's a very interesting game in that in the GC, the big problem is the same as WITP:AE- getting everything ready for the second year of the war. I seem to do better when everything's all lined up for me to use!

Bump!

I also wanted to add my thanks to the development team .... I'm really enjoying this game so far. still learning but having fun every step of the way. IMHO it actually feels like 2 games when I consider the air war. I picked to up along with Operation:Torch again imo a must have

Also still learning and then trying to master the different aspects of this game, currently doing the Strategic bombing scenario with help of the DOs and DON'Ts in the 'Strategic bombing for dummies' thread posted by Harrybanana.
