The Bayeux tapestry is one of the supreme achievements of the Norman Romanesque. Its survival almost intact over nine centuries is little short of miraculous. Its exceptional length, the harmony and freshness of its colours, its exquisite workmanship, and the genius of its guiding spirit combine to make it endlessly fascinating.

This 230ft long piece of embroidered cloth, which hangs in the Musee de la Tapisserie de Bayeux, depicts the events leading up to , and including, the Norman Conquest and is, quite simply, priceless.

I was deeply saddened - as were normal, civilised people everywhere, when reading that some years ago some remtard stole a piece of this great work..... I wonder who it was?....

Does anyone know of any good real estate deals in Australia? I'm thinking of putting some distance between me and Little Boots.

I'm thinking along the same lines. But Australia isn't far enough. Here I am scouting out a homestead just about far enough away...

One time when I was young I was at a friend's place in the country, fishing in his pond. It was more of a lake than a pond and had a big island in the middle of it. His father was growing grapes on that island. He fancied himself a vintner. I had some of his wine once. It was cloudy and had stuff floating in it. It was just awful. Anyways, I was fishing and was getting no nibbles at all. I saw this big fat bullfrog sitting on the shore, which was mostly pebbles and weeds. He was as big as a fully growed and fatted Guinea Pig. I was bored so I dangled my bait (a worm) in front of him and he took it. I lifted him up and my rod was seriously bowed doing that and his legs were, what's the expression that men use about women's legs?. Never quitting or something like that. They were hanging down and were about a foot and a half long. So I brought him in and took the hook out of his mouth and let him go. I returned to "fishing" and got bored again. There was mister bullfrog sitting on the shore and I dangled my bait in front of him again. He had learned nothing and took it once more. Wash, rinse and repeat. I let him go and packed up my gear. No fish caught that day.

But how ruff could that be? I believe "Arf bow-wow" signified a turn to starboard.
