I've not been following the development of this game, but I've owned earlier incarnations, and I'm curious about "what if" campaigns. The two I have in mind are a US that remains neutral throughout the war, and another that starts in Spring 1942 assuming a Russian surrender in December 1941 with borders similar to the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. Are either of these possible?

Hi Hondo

Yes, these are definitely within the capabilities of the engine, and as the game comes with an Editor anyone with a little time and inclination can set to designing their own what ifs in no time!

Thanks for the quick response. Is there a revolt mechanism in the game for surrendered nations? Specifically, is it possible for a game that starts with a surrendered Soviet Union have that country rise up later in the war? Is there a way to tie this to a German occupation garrison level, or some other mechanism that would force the Germans to use some resources to maintain the SU's neutrality?

It would take some thought but there are ways to replicate what you're thinking of. Countries can start the game in a surrendered state, and Partisans can rise up even though the country has surrendered, with scripts in place to provide income and units if designated locations are liberated.

Partisan locations would need to be guarded by the Axis in order to prevent uprisings, so yes, this can all be done.

I'm working on a "what if" Stalin attacks the West in 1946 or World War Three 1946.

I am updating my Decision Event: UK and France Declaration of War - for the final release. When it is done I will post a link to it in the Mods forum.

Summary: In this decision event England and France have the option to declare war after Germany attacks Poland.

YES: UK and France declare war on Germany (Historical option)
NO: UK and France opt to remain neutral. If they choose this option the USSR will mobilize prepare for war against Germany in 1940. While Germany and the USSR fight the UK and France can prepare for war. The downside to selecting this option is that US war readiness declines and the USSR will be facing Germany alone. (Alternative History Option)

NOTE: Germany did not expect that the UK and France would declare war over the German invasion of Poland. They had planned to go to war only against the USSR after the conquest of Poland.
