Loving the game. But another question. How often can land-based fighters escort or intercept in a given turn? One escort per my turn, one interception per enemy turn?

It depends on the level of air warfare you have researched.
Level 0 you have 1 escort, 1 intercept, level 1 (the max) means 2 escorts and 2 intercepts.
