I loved SC2 but don't really see much difference though I've only seen screenshots and read the summaries. Would someone mind explaining the differences? Thanks!

I like hexes. Very traditional.

It is very similar to SC2. If you've played SC2 you'll be able to pick this up instantly. It has better graphics and hexes, which are both big pluses. The biggest gameplay change is the ability to move after combat, which adds some nice flexibility.

I've seen some more event variability, like the allies successfully aiding Finland.

I wouldn't go in to this expecting something revolutionary. It feels like a very polished, prettier version of SC2. Nothing at all like the leap from the first to second game. On the one hand I'm disappointed they didn't push things further and shake up or replace some of the systems I'm not keen on (naval units as tanks, supply system, lack of oil) but it's definitely the best version of SC out there, and will hopefully be a great base going forward if they enhance it as much as they did SC2.

I'd recommend a purchase, personally, but if you overplayed SC2 to death don't expect it to shake things up too much. :)

One thing I think is pretty huge that no one, including the devs, have mentioned:

If I'm Allied and just want to play the Soviets, no problem. The AI takes over the rest of the faction. Even more impressive, you can changes factions, countries, difficulty, in the middle of a campaign.

Need to adjust something annoying the AI is doing as Germany? NO problem. Then just change back to your faction again. Very few games offer that kind of flexibility.
