I feel somewhat guilty for the outcome of your WC adventure Lowpe. This defeat belongs partly to me. Now, we are expecting to hear your plans for defending the Empire from the evil expansionists at the White house.

I did it, hoping to steal a march on Jocke. If he hadn't had 3+ divisions in San Diego the plan would have worked. In Hindsight I should have reconned the east coast better, but not sure how to do that without giving away everything.

1. Look up his entire OOB via a game against the AI
2. Recon everywhere you can in CONUS and compare what you can see with what you know he could have at that date
3. Lots of guesswork to fill in the gaps

4. Don't invade CONUS in December 1942 . Gotta be way earlier to have a chance.

In all fairness many players (present company included) do not build up and fortify CONUS bases in early 1942. They do now. Sometimes your greatest contributions to others is to serve as an example of what not to do. Honestly if you were playing me we would all be driving Toyotas. Good measure of hard luck on your part

Yes, Virginia, there are still Japanese troops on the West Coast. Will be for decades I fear as they have been ordered to fight to the last man and live off the land.

Cherry Blossom festivals across the Home Islands. Oh, Spring!

And new fighters gearing up! Optimism is in the air, surely the American Dogs will sue for peace since the successful Hollywood invasion! Think of it, for better than a year no Hollywood movies will be made.

Ah, Spring!

Bitter, brutal, fights at Akyab...as the Japanese give slowly back. Paoshan's days are numbered as several IJA Tank Divisions cross the river to the north. Opening this road is now a high priority, higher than taking the Changsha Production Triangle which is the only remaining Chinese positions. Well, they still have Urumchi but not for much longer.

Rather than stack a lot forward, there are quite a few divisions digging in on the off base jungle rough positions.

For a while the IJNAF was doing okay in sweeping, but then the Allies built their airbase too large. Our attempts to hit the shipping invariably got chewed up despite the large escorts so for now they are on hold.

The Allies are very methodical.

General game notes:

Allied submarines are fairly brutal, as I refuse to assign more than 3 small Sonia squadrons from the Army to ASW work. And the Army is upset about assigning them!

On the other hand, there has not been a single night raid for as long as I can remember. I do have the Endo Squadron somewhere in Burma protecting something important, but really they are simply creating the protocols for a fledgling night fighter program.

Akyab falls. 800 AV Chinese Corp providing the muscle, British and Commonwealth troops fairly beat up.

Thanks, Dave. Just needed a wee break, plus more family time. Back to troubling the Allies.

A risky move...there is a large AP fleet here, now (not pictured). The Maya along with two destroyers are going in.

Very risky, as this is a major Allied Air Base and 75 Fighters will hopefully be providing LRCAP for the Maya and her destroyer escorts.

Too long, have the Allies been allowed to march forward.

Surprise, I hope, is on my side.

Nasty heavy weather rolls in, and the Maya and company decide to hide in it for another day. Meanwhile the Allied transport fleet is unaware...like sheep to the slaughter. Muhaaha!

Probably the opposite will happen, and the Maya will stop short 5 hexes away and get attacked by waves of Allied planes...but, hope springs eternal for a nasty sharp fight amongst the transports.

Jocke flipped the turn very quick, he suspects nothing!

But it will be another hour or two until I can run the turn,.,.,.what fate befell the mighty Maya?

Elsewhere the Allies lead with their tanks...sigh.

PDU off, and the Oscar IIb has to do these kind of fights. I have a Sentai of Tojo IIb at Rabaul, but with their hideously inaccurate cannons they probably would have done worse.
