As a disclaimer I must say that it was not with the 1939 scenario but the 1942 scenario. I played from 1939 to 1942 but could not continue because of an error in my save file. So I switched to the Fall Blau scenario. No biggie I was pretty much in the same positions as historically, except I just conquered Cairo and Leningrad in my broken game. 1942 (scenario starts in June) : I took Stalingrad in September and wiped out the whole Soviet army there. I also took Cairo with Rommel. I raided the UK-URSS convoy with all my subs, and my fleet was not far away, taking out destroyers. During the winter I conquered Leningrad and moved most of my troops in the Moscow region for my 1943 offensive. I left an HQ to defend Stalingrad and Von Manstein (after conquering Crimea) was tasked to conquer the Caucasus. I gave a +20% to the computer to replace all the troops I killed during the summer. 1943 : Moscow falls in October after a very hard battle. This time I'm not able to mop-up the Red Army. Rommel moves in the Middle East to Bagdad. The Allies land in North Africa, and take Casablanca+Algiers. I get two corps and one tank in Tunisia. The Italian navy wins a major victory against the Royal navy, and the Kriegsmarine batters the American Navy in the Atlantic. I land german and italian SF and a heavy tank in Algiers. I start a counteroffensive from Tunis and the US Army is badly beaten. Spain joins the Axis, Gibraltar falls. However I don't advance at all in the Caucasus, and the Soviet counterattack at Stalingrad. I almost have a heart attack when a soviet partisan spawns in Leningrad (minor hex), I forgot to put a garrison...A mecanized division took care of them. 1944 : Overlord. Very hard naval battle in the Channel, but I prevail with the combined German-spanish-italian navy. Because I took Gibraltar I can move very fast from one sea to another. And anyway the mediterranean is pretty much void of british presence except a sub. I sink a total of 25 transports. The aerial battle rages for most of the AI turn x). The Cherbourg peninsula falls but I quickly take it back. In the East, I launch an all around offensive eastward. The Caucasus falls when Rommel links up from Iran. 1945 : Overlord II in April. Very short lived because now I control the seas. In May 1945 I'm closing on Perm in the East. I'm ready to invade the British Isles. I use all my airpower on London and then drop a paratrooper on it. Computer turn and...Decisive victory, on the 30th of May 1945 ! I really enjoyed this game, it was challenging until the end. The Soviet kept counterattacking around Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad. The Caucasus battle in particular was very hard because of the mountains and the bad supply. I wish I could keep playing to finish the Brits, and then invade the USA. And also take Perm to get the USSR to surrender. I know I can deactivate the script for victory but the Autosave is AFTER the event fires. I should have saved the turn before...is there any way to continue playing, even though the event fired and I don't have an earlier save? Some numbers, from June 1942, UK total losses : 119 US total losses : 75 SU total losses : 266 German total losses : 24 Italian total losses : 4
