ORIGINAL: berto I infer that to join these clubs, to have forum posting privileges, I must accept a "command assignment" and be willing to PBEM. What if I, a committed solitaire player, just want to ask questions and occasionally comment in the fora? The iNWC also allows people to just sign up for our forum. The forum is located at: http://nwcg.proboards.com/index.cgi? We have had plenty of visitors in the past and you are welcome to post too. Thanks. I have registered/joined. But just to participate in the Forum, not do PBEM. quote:
But I agree w/Rich, PBEM is a lot of fun, especially if you find some good folks to play with. It depends on your idea of fun. Fortunately, there is enough flexibility in the Tiller games (BGS, HPS) to offer many paths to enjoyment. My enjoyment is hot-seat solitaire, in-house rules (in particular, command control overlay), stress on historicity/plausibility, indifference to scenario/designer-specified winning or losing (either against a human opponent or the AI). I also like to play hours at a time, not in PBEM fits and starts, and according to my own peculiar schedules. And, given my many other competing interests/commitments, without obligation to any human opponent. (The computer doesn't care if I walk away from a game for weeks or even months on end.) Obviously, Your (and most people's) Mileage May Vary.
