Hey guys.
I just started (very blue eyed) into the aur war. After the short tutorial, wich was quit useful - I am stuck. My Stukas are doing fine by eliminating the enemy radar stations. I shortly discovered how to work with reacon propably and started some evening raids to London industries. But I can't manage to damage any airfield. I was attacking the both primary airfields south of London (Bigging Hill & Kenley) with 2 to 3 waves of about 70 to 90 bombers, but didn't managed to destroy any aircraft on the ground nor to damage the facilities of the airfields. May any ideas, what I am doing wrong?

'nother thing I am worrying about are my K/D ratio, wich is about 10:25 in favour for the Thommies. My fighters seems to do a fine job, since their losses are slightly below the enemy, but I am loosing my Stukas and Heinkels in very awful way...I started to set fighter escort 1 squad to close escort, 1 squad to high escort (3000 yrds) and 1 squad to high escort (5000 yrds). May any other suggestions here, or is it just normal to loose that many aircrafts?

Best wishes and thanks already.

The birds may have already flown the coop, so that is why you are not getting aircraft on the ground. It is about timing. You are not going to get any ground kills, if the RAF is already in the air. As far as doing any damage to the airfields, for starters they repair at a very fast rate and you may be bombing from to high an altitude.

Thanks for the first advice.

Two more question may allowed:

1st) After the raids are played out and I go on the tab "Action Reports". Does the 2nd collumn from the right ("Aircraft") mean the destroyed aircrafts on ground? If so, I just got 33 and 34.

2nd) You're advicing to attack airfields from not too hight. Wich hight you'd recommand? I am going as high as possible to get my 109ers into better condition. Last turn played I could destroy 13 aircraft with a lost of 28. Fighters with the same amount lost as destroyed. Again the bomber losses are still high, especially the Ju 87.

In the action report for the axis, the 'aircraft' number is the approximate number of British fighters you spotted at the airfield. To find out how many you destroyed/damaged on the ground you have to go to 'campaign summary' where you see 2 sets of numbers, one is destroyed:damaged current turn and the other set is for the entire campaign so far.

I bomb in BoB at 12k-15k feet. If the weather is cloudy you will have problems doing any damage. time a fighter sweep for 30 minutes after the bombers leave the target airbase. Ju87's need lots of escort. withdraw them or limit them to the SW coast of England or they will get shredded.

yes. It doesn't always go the way you plan though.

Um, another question just appeared, but I don't want to make for this 'minor' thing a new thread:

I let raid my StG2 (all squads) to Poole/Portsmouth with fallowing shuttle right into the Normandy. It worked as intended, but now my StG2 is dettached, but I still have a StG2 at the origin airfield. How can I reattach them now again?

Thanks.

The squadrons assume the command of the airfield they are based at. just move the unit back to it's parent airbase with the rest of it's group.
