I worry about both Malta and North Africa since we have supply trouble and lack sea lift. Although I do not think Malta will be attack until next turn due to lack of Italian sea lift and special units. But Axis have plenty of bad stuff in production.
warspite1

Yes, I was talking about this turn. I wish Malta and North Africa were nothing to worry about....

I would never attempt a US DOW at less than 50%, unless I was absolutely desperate. In fact, I would not attempt at 50% either.

After all, critical 50% rolls work only about one in four times.

What's the plan Ormster vis-a-vis passing with none, some or all?

What do you think? Do you feel lucky?

I was thinking that CW could do a naval and put more ships on the line. But with my luck I would probably be better off by passing even if we missed. The Nationalists could do with a land move but it is not critical since so many of the Japanese become disorganized.

In order to make our Axis 'friends' happy I am considering sending the last available ships to CSV. The few modern ships that RN has.

Well unless its critical I just don't think we have anything to lose - and I have a good feeling about this; Thing 1 will be rolling the dice for us.

I am considering sending part of this force to both the 3 and the 0 box.

And sending these two carriers to the 0-box.

The reason for the 0-box is to put another convoy point there for supply.

And the reason for the 3-box is to have a tiny chance for the carrier plane to shoot down that pesky Italian naval bomber.

Can we afford to lose them? We actually got some luck with the naval search dice at the end of the last impulse (although that was relative ) I don't hold out much hope of that luck continuing...

But it is not much chance of getting the naval bombers. In part because we need to find it. And in part because even if we find it they could always abort after only one round of air combat.´

So should we put all the ships in the 0-box instead? Or not put any ships at risk here and save the carriers for when they have some juicy Italian targets?

As ever I go with your experience. It is perhaps of less importance anyway, we ARE going to throw a 1 to end the turn. FACT.

My experience is to stay away.

It says that I should never risk carriers against land based air. Unless, of course, I have land based air as well.

I think I will try my luck by sending ships to CSV. I am a bit worried about Morocco. To many units are disorganized and OOS. If Germany get Tangier then there is a risk they could clean out Morocco in a couple of impulses.

Do you think I should place the entire force in the 0-box or split it up? Or leave some of the ships in reserve?

So, do you want to use any of the powers or do we pass with the lot?

Thing 1 is on standby and awaiting your call

Passing with all nations except CW and end the impulse on a 2 or less?

Okay - but only a 1 is required. Thing 1 will roll that one for us so pass over to me for that.

With Thing 1 on standby, do we dare roll for naval searches.

By the way. I actually thought a Axis declaration of war on Portugal was imminent. Looks like I was completely wrong.

I am doing the CW naval now. Will you do the possible naval searches as well as the end of turn roll?

No. I have all my energy, every fibre, every atom, geared toward Thing 1 throwing a 1 for the end of turn. That's it. There is no room for any other result - and throwing for other stuff simply complicates matters.

Wow we actually got some Axis dice at sea.... but with just one fighter you just know what is going to happen in the air battle. I really don't know what to do here. My heart says go for it but my head says avoid battle.....

I always ask myself - what would the Royal Navy do?

The Tommies on-shore are low on ammunition. The RN would deliver the ammo and seek battle another day. No one doubts that they will seek battle.

The Axis is really waffling now, just hiding behind their artillery and afraid to attack anything. Keep pressing them every way you can. The tide is turning.

Indeed - but hope springs eternal Baldrick and as Vivian Leigh (Scarlett O'Hara) once said:

"Tomorrow is another day and we will lose more ships and aircraft to crap dice so we'll just have to live with it".

Ok. Now our impulse is done.

It would be nice if this miserable turn could end.

Take it away, Warspite1.

Come on Thing 1!
