I always play scenarios from Panther's "Battle of the Bulge" title around this time of year.

War In The West. Operation Diadem scenario.

I started this scenario a few days ago and finished it today. Playing as the Allies Army Group C was scattered to the winds and the Allies are north of the Po.

SSI's Battles of Napoleon (from 1988). I played as the French and lost due to Russian Air Supremacy (his cannonballs definitely out-flew and out-maneuvered mine!)

Somebody help me...I can't get away from Mount and Blade Viking Conquest. Well, I can get away but, I keep going back to it daily. Cavalry charges have never been so much fun not even in "Battles of Napoleon" can top this.

Then play a Viking and fight on foot. The fun with cavalry charges should evaporate fast if you are the target.

How about that Rome II Wodin? 17 patches and they still didn't get it right. Only way I can play it and get some fun out of it (and challenge) is totally "Autocalc" the whole game. I went into the .ini file and found some things you could change to make the game harder on autocalc. Appears to have 4 levels of difficulty for it as well as the regular difficulty settings.

I played Minecraft moments ago. I also played Xenonauts Community Edition. Maybe one more deployment of that...

Played the Battleroyale mod in ARMA 3 all this afternoon. It's kinda like the Hunger Games (or moreso the Japanese movie of the same name), you parachute onto an island with a few dozen other people and it's every man for himself. You land empty handed and have to search for weapons. Always tense first moments as you scramble for a gun, knowing that other parachutes landed nearby. With the scale of ARMA you can sneak around and hide in the woods, wait and ambush others, or whatever strategy you choose, but eventually you are forced to move into an ever shrinking area. Also love how you have a map but it doesn't actually show where you are, you have to look for landmarks on your way down so you can orientate yourself. Good stuff!

The Division and WiTP:AE (Grand Campaign vs AI, now in it's third real time year).

New patch for the Division goes live in the test environment soon.

Cheers

A bit of:

Campaigns on the Danube - you really should try this game
Birth of America - I'm no General Wolfe
Ageod's Civil War 2 - yeah - made Atlanta burn
Wars of Napoleon - my PC can't cope.
Read about thirty pages of Izaac Walton's "The Compleat Angler."

Played several games of seeming interested in scam phone callers.

Xenonauts Community Edition. I'm almost through the third month and whacked through my first terror mission. Gonna have good increase to funding for my 4th month. Laser sniper rifle is so damn good I consider to ditch LMGs from my squads and have another laser sniper in their place. I don't use any vehicles yet: whatever advantages those would have, they require research and additional building in bases with monthly maintenance fee.

Strategic Command 3 and Hearts of Iron III with Blackice mod. The first is okay, but the second is a fine experience. One of the best.
