Those look very nice ! Round Air Units - reminds me of an Avalon Hill board game from the old days !

Yep, recall those counters as well.

I'd almost like to mix and match the nato counters with the rounded air units so it is easier at a glance to tell air from ground.

still the Regia Marina to complete....

I plan to do all major nations with specific icons, it may take a while.
Did anybody knows why we got 12 counters per rows on the Nato sprite file?
I wonder this is to manage upgrades and facing direction?

Very nice counters, I didnt know that game
After thinking twice I realize I still got (somewhere) a second AH game.
Squad leader + crescendo of doom + Cross of iron expansion.

For the circle counter for plane I believe I have seen on Schwerpunkt game, I think they use also hexagon counter for navy. (or could be the opposite)

I like the bombs as level indicators, may even give the round counters a look at. Similar to schwerpunkt's countrr shapes also.

Italians completed still few minor cosmetic changes to do.
I will post the final version by end of this week, then start next nation(s)
I did also change "unit_nato_flag_sprites" to allow correct HQ display

Really nice looking designs. I actually prefer the 3D icons in this game, but for counters you've truly nailed it. Kudos.

Thank you all,

P is Partisan unit, G is for Garnison unit and the X Badge is for the X-MAS unit (Italy Marine Commando)

I Start UK unit right now should be little bit faster as I get template file ready and I think I will use same silhouettes for all navy's, with this scale I think we cant make difference between every nation battleships

The question always is: Should a unit be depicted from above or from the side. I'm always torn about this, but with ships I generally think that the outlines are easier to depict in a recognizable way if seen sideways on.

Hello All,

One more screenshot (Italy + UK completed)
I need to add Facing direction change at least for vehicles and Artillery.
Starting USA in parallel.

For ETA I Hope to complete in few weeks (humm...)
I didnt manage tech upgrade so far as it will leads to hundred of silhouettes to edit.

What does the naval designation "DN" stand for? Dreadnought? All modern, post-Dreadnought BBs were and are dreadnoughts. If meant to be pre-Dreadnoughts then "B" is the usual notation. DN isn't the vanilla game is it?

You're right DN is for Dreadnought, and its already included in the vanilla game, I simply set a battleship for this picture slot.

I like these counters.
In a strategic game one should immediately, with a glance, understand the situation. Elegant and simple in their format, they serve the job magnificently.

I have seen there is 1 Major nation slot unused, any Idea wich Nation I could add?

In the vanilla game, it's just a unit slot that can be used for modders.

Maybe we will use it properly in the future too.
