As n0knok said we were hoping to start testing a week ago but hit some delays

We're sorry for the wait and that its taking longer than we first suggested but multiplayer is definitely coming

I dunno which system You guys think to implement in mp (PBEM as in SC1), but gr8 example of mp gaming was Unity of command multiplayer style, can U make something like that working?

The mp file exchange will be done through Slitherine's PBEM++ system. It is a proven and reliable system. Not sure what Unity of Command uses but the system being used for Strategic Command is the same great system used for Battle Academy, Panzer Corps, etc.

Hi guys,

we've been hoping to release an update for the last 2 weeks but unfortunately it just hasn't happened. Hubert wasn't well and was working through and has just been diagnosed with pneumonia.

We've asked Hubert to stop trying to get anything done and take a break for Christmas and hopefully start the new year well and ready to update the game. We're sorry for the delay but really don't think Hubert pushing to try and deliver anything now makes sense for anyone.

We'll get a patch to you and multiplayer as soon as we can in the new year. Thanks for your understanding.

One's health is more important than working on a computer game. Take a break and get well soon, Hubert...and have a Merry Christmas, too!

Sorry to hear Hubert is sick. Glad to hear that Matrix/Slitherine principals made a decision to force Hubert to take time to mend, because I know he otherwise would have kept plugging away.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and the good news is that I'm finally feeling a lot better.

Months of late nights wrapping up this game must have finally caught up with me, and taking the time this week to officially rest and recuperate has already done wonders on my end.

I look forward to the holidays and spending some time with the family and rest assured we'll finish up what we started with SC3 as soon as the new year rolls around.

I also wanted to wish everyone, on behalf of Bill and myself, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as well and to thank everyone for their overall support. It really has meant a lot to us and we really appreciate it.

Merry Christmas Hubert, Bill, and all the great staff and community involved in SC WiE.

Hubert, please make sure to take the time for yourself (you certainly deserve it!) to relax and heal. (Maybe you could even find time to play a game for once instead of building one!)

Happy holidays to you all.

Best wishes,

Shane / Mantis

Tnx for making me and addict Hubert &team, again and again. Once SC1 was released I broke with ex gf. I was 26-27 yrs old + young law trainee. Today I m 42 old lawyer. Since I discovered SC3, last 7 days I slept 30 hours and played bout 70 hours of SC3. I stopped going to the office, my relation with girlfriend is like Leningrad 1941 siege, I don't eat, don't watch TV, don't play FIFA with friends anymore. Even when I stop playing SC in 7-8 AM, when going to bed I read about the game on cell phone, in bed I keep seeing NATO units signs before falling asleep and dreaming bout Rudolf Hess flying to Scotland.I don't even jerk anymore...
So tnx for the best ****in strategy simulation ever, once polished this will be masterpiece for all times. And I know the case, spent loads of hours on Clash of steel, Panzer general, Unity of command and EU series.
Happy Christmas and New Year, once PBEM option is out, I ll probably end up in some clinic, gr8 job and once more, I m speechless U made proper simulation out of SC1 arcade (in my own poor english).

heheh btw there was a strong but rather small community of Unity of command players on Steam which I think would be much interested in this game, I think You should push game on Steam-I guess its imperative these days to achieve popularity which this game deserves

A semi-decent way to play multi-player with the intitial game release (no PBEM++) is to use hotseat and make use of the autosave file. This will allow for proper event choices by each side.
The way it is played:
1. Perform your turn, then press End Turn.
2. Wait until calculating supply window has been displayed and the next player's turn starts (if using password the passwiord prompt will show up after supply calculation)
3. Alt - Tab out of the game (the game has been saved at the end of turn with autosave).
4. Email the autosave file to the opponent: File location: My Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War In Europe\Multiplayer\Hotseat
5. Save the autosave file into the directory (see 4).
6. Start game and load the hotseat autosave file.

This method is similar to previous battlefront games using pbem via the email folder.

You opponent shouldn't send the autosave file, this can't work, he has to send you a save file of his own.
