Hi Ed

I'm not really understanding what's wrong. I'm asking for an example file so I can see what you see as my experiment was successful

If you're asking about the seeker info that was posted you'll notice that most if not all our seekers have 5nm ranges. This plus other guidance features is how we are able to give the missile of greater chance of hitting the intended target while still allowing it to hit others. I promise we don't kobble Russian systems. Anybody that says that doesn't know us.

Thanks!

Mike

So I made a video, 2 sides
Party red
-A-50
-Buyan-M
Party blue
-Meko 200TN Truck 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ROKpRBsn3c#password

Thanks Ed. Problem found and the fix will be in next update.

Edit! Don't use the next one.

We model this weapons by adding a second weapon as a payload which has the sensor. Something is happening code wise there. Stay tuned but we'll work to fix this one soon.

Thanks!

Mike

Ed just tested the fix for this. Kalibre should be good to go next release. First stage tracks correctly, high speed release occurs with radars active.

Mike

Thank you responded that Mike

ROKAF F-16C Block 32 Peace Bridge was upgraded in proportion to F-16CM Block 52

WASHINGTON, May 26, 2009 * On May 22, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the Republic of Korea to support the upgrade of 35 F-16 Block 32 Aircraft. The estimated cost is $250 Million.

The Republic of Korea has requested a possible sale to support the upgrade of 35 F-16 Block 32 aircraft to allow employment of Joint Direct Attack Munitions, Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles, Improved Data Modem, and Secure Voice capabilities, test and support equipment, spare and repair parts, personnel training and training equipment, publications and technical data, U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance and other related logistics support. The estimated cost is $250 million.

Peace Bridge I

In December of 1981, the Republic of Korea signed a letter of agreement for the purchase of 36 F-16C/D block 32 Fighting Falcons under the Peace Bridge I Foreign Military Sales program.

This made the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) the first foreign operator of the F-16C/D model of the Fighting Falcon. These aircraft were to augment the F-4D/E Phantoms and the F-5E Tiger II's, which were at that time the primary combat aircraft serving with the ROKAF. The Korean program was christened Victory Falcon in 1986 by Chun Doo Hwan, president of the Republic of Korea. Because there were still funds remaining in the Peace Bridge I program, four more F-16D Block 32's were ordered in June of 1988.

http://www.janes.com/article/65645/lockheed-martin-to-upgrade-south-korea-s-f-16-fighters

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a USD1.2 billion contract to upgrade the Republic of Korea Air Force's (RoKAF's) fleet of KF-16 combat aircraft, the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 21 November.

The contract, which was awarded on 18 November, will be performed at the company's Fort Worth production facility in Texas, and will be complete by 15 November 2025.

The RoKAF maintains a fleet of 170 KF-16C/D Block 50/52 fighters, which were received in 1986. In 2012 the South Korean government awarded BAE Systems a USD1.2 billion contract to upgrade 134 KF-16s with the Raytheon Advanced Combat Radar (RACR), Raytheon's AN/ALR-69A electronic warfare (EW) suite, a Link 16 datalink, a helmet-mounted sight, a 'glass' cockpit, and an enhanced weapons package. The first two aircraft due to be upgraded had arrived at Fort Worth Alliance Airport in mid-May 2014. These were intended to serve as prototypes and test aircraft, with the remainder to be modernised in Korea using kits supplied by BAE Systems.

However, this contract was cancelled by the South Korean government in November 2014 after it said that costs had increased by about USD730 million. In December 2015, South Korea instead selected Lockheed Martin to carry out the work on its KF-16 upgrade programme. While this latest contract announcement does not disclose aircraft numbers or the specific nature of the work to be done, it will likely follow the same path as the previous award in terms of both numbers and scope. At least one aspect that will likely change will be the active electronically scanned array radar, which will now probably be provided by Lockheed Martin's long-standing F-16 partner Northrop Grumman rather than by Raytheon.

Some semi official release of China's SSN evolution. Seems like the latest 09IIIB has TASS.

Translation by Vincent @ CDF:

On October 15, 2016, the decommissioned first SSN was pulled by tugboats into the Naval Museum in Qingdao. It is believe this former pride of PLAN will be shown to the public soon. This publication provide the following based on published info:

09 IIIB SSN, differences from the standard edition are smoother shape, remove the observation windows, addition of VLS in the back, visible bulges at the front and mid-ship above the water line and towed sonar array at the rear fin.

09 IIIA SSN, differences from the standard edition is the the addition of smoothing shape between the hull and the coning tower

09 III SSN, first of the type went into the water in 2001. Uses similar pressure hull (?) as the LA class and a 7 blade low noise propeller. Changed the single line of water ejection system to multiple ones. The hull is covered in sound dampening tiles

09 IB SSN, uses a single line of water ejection system, later boats installed flank sonars, has the ability to fire YJ82 anti-ship missiles

09 IA SSN, only one ship (403). Length is increased and the water ejection system combines a single line system and a number of individual ones. The ship installed flank sonars later on. Still in service

09 I SSN, first boat introduced on December 26, 1970. Decommissioned

The UK F-35B has an external loadout for the GBU-31(V)4/B JDAM [BLU-109A/B] External (loadout ID 1398) with x2 GBU-31, x2 Meteor, and x2 ASRAAMs but not an internal only variant. The other strike loadouts it has all have an internal variant that ditches the ASRAAMs. US F-35s have both internal and external variant of the GBU-31.

I'm not sure is this info should be here or in the Defense news. http://tvzvezda.ru/news/forces/content/201609270821-6np8.htm The S-400 hits a target at the altitude 45 km. It happened during exercise of the SAM regiment. So it could only be done by a missile 48N6E3 (DB index #2103). In the database the max target altitude for this missile is 27.432 km.
Of course, such altitude can be reached only by decreasing of the range.

Updated Thanks!

I've added a 2018 Variant of the J-10A with the missile.

Navy stuff I need help with. I need picture or something to support the PL-10 and PL-15. You would think that just getting the missile when the PLAAF does is logical but it really doesn't seem to happen that way. If you can get me a picture or something to support he change I'll do it.

Next we need ASM loadouts for Navy J-10's. Assume YJ-83 but not sure. Seems weird that a naval multirole has yet to be pictured with one!

A big update coming is we've replaced all Chinese ASM's with correctly designated YJ missiles. I think we got them all and captured the updates through the years but please do let us know if we're wrong. We got great info on what the missiles actually are but some of the details on implementation and changes are murky.

Thanks!

Mike

Looks like the F-35B only has room in the bays for 1 1000lb weapons and an Amraam per bay. Multiple sources seem to support this. If anybody finds anything different let me know and I'll make a change.

Navy J-10A you mean? IIRC the J-10A and J-10AH (PLANAF) still have yet to show any meaningful differences aside of their different color-scheme and serial numbers. I would still wait with the YJ-83 change here anyway.

And sounds good with the redesignation/name-fixes of the YJ-missiles. The old C-XXX designations for export missiles seems to be superceeded with the new CM-XXX anyway...

I have made a chart for that some times ago, based on the findings and info posted on the internet; the date is when these boats have been spotted first:

What I didnt find is any information about the intermediate "Type 09 IIIA" class - this photo showing it crossing the strait of Malacca from this year is basically is the only one available and the first ever confirmation that this intermediate upgrade to the now serial-produced 09 IIIB even existed in the first place. So, it is impossible to tell the construction date - only that it has to be a predecessor to the 09 IIIB due to its less radical changes compared to the vanilla 09 III.

Hello,

It looks like the fuel capacity for the #26 T-AO 187 Henry J. Kaiser fleet oiler is low.

DB shows 1629 tons oil + 165 tons gas + 165 tons diesel = 1,959 tons total.

However, this is a 42,000 ton ship at full displacement, and Wiki etc. report a fuel capacity of 28300 cubic meters, which would be roughly 27,000 tons of fuel, so the 1,959 ton figure seems very low.

For comparison, the smaller T-AOT 1121 Gus W. Darnell oiler has a capacity of 22,700 tons in the DB.

Thanks.

Updated and Andy's in beta to check it out. Asking him to ping me if he finds anything stupid.

Another tanker capacity item:

#1223 A 268 Green Rover, and #333 A 268 Green Rover have fuel capacities listed as 965 tons oil and 123 tons diesel.

These are 11,500 ton ships at full displacement, and Wiki etc. show a 7,460 cubic meter oil capacity, which would be roughly 7,000 tons of fuel oil.

(Flicking through some of the other tankers in the DB, it seems like there are a bunch of them with very low fuel capacities. Maybe there's a calculation hiccup somewhere?)

Same as above

Hello

it looks like the #1212 Type 2051 sonar are currently only has passive only search, but the type 2051 itself is the replacement for the type 187 which has passive and active attack sonar.
could you add passive and active sonar attack to #1212 type 2051 sonar.

thanks

DDG-167 Shenzhen MLU (Type 051B Luhai-class), seems to be equipped with up to sixteen YJ-12A, actually! The launch containers arent YJ-83 at all. The lids shown here are "flat" and do not have the tpyical rectangular convex structure.

I see what you mean but it could mean new box launchers too. Lets wait for more concrete evidence. We learned a big lesson with jumping the shark on the imagery C-803 and don't want a repeat.

Plenty of corrections and suggestions to help the database viewer search engine.

Fixed-wing:

#3327 - Tornado ECR MLU --> Tornado ECR [EA-200D] (MLU as side note similar to DB unit #3806)
#1403 - A.400M Grizzly --> A.400M Atlas [Grizzly] (German A.400M are designated Atlas also)
#1227 - F-4E Phantom II --> F-4E Phantom II [Terminator 2020] (Name composition similar to the Greek and Israeli Phantoms in the DB)
#813 - F-4E Phantom II --> F-4E Phantom II [Terminator 2020]

H-6K with 36 externally carried 250kg bombs. Maybe there are another bunch carried internally as well.

Good confirmation that the H-6K can still do level bombing missions and not just cruise missile launching...

EDIT: This image might even confirm another long rumored thing - the increased payload of the H-6K. Previous H-6 had 9 tons of payload, while the H-6K is rumored to have at least 12 tons, or even 14 tons of payload due to its lighter airframe and more powerful D-30KP engines. With 36 250kg bombs, 9 tons are alread reached. The bombracks, pylons and interfaces alltogether would also not be weightless at all. So, perhaps 11-12 tons of payload capability might be required to get the depicted bombload up into the air.

Just a thought...

Added 36 FAB-250 bombload. Two sources think the internal space is used for fuel so that's how I've configured the load. Will keep adjusting as more information comes to light.

My post from the build 870.4 thread, should have put it here in the start.

quote:

ORIGINAL: Jakers123

Has the MiG 29 9.12B thing been fixed? Last time I played CMANO, Serbia/Yugoslavia had the regular Soviet version MiG 29 9.12 (or ,,MiG 29A"), but the difference between MiG 29 9.12 (Soviet version), MiG 9.12A (Warsaw pact (Bulgaria, East Germany,...)version) and 9.12B (third countries (Iraq, Yugoslavia, etc.)) version is gigantic.

I don't know much about the Warsaw pact 9.12A version, I know that it is a little downgraded, but the 9.12B version has a radar that is almost two times weaker than the original one, I think that it can't carry all (non-nuclear) AA missiles that the regular version can, it doesn't have an IFF system and I think that it doesn't even have the flares/chaff system, although I am not sure about that last thing.

So could you please replace the Serbian and Iraqi MiG's with the downgraded ones that they really have? The English name for the 9.12B is ,,MiG 29B" I think, so maybe you'll find some info that way.

By the way, Serbia just received 6 MiG's 29 from Russia, 3 - 9.13 versions, 2 - UB versions and one - 9.12 version(original Soviet one), they are supposed to come in March 2017, also Serbia received 30 T-72S tanks (Shilden) and 30 BRDM-2 in that donation. More info about that, in Russian http://bmpd.livejournal.com/2338635.html

I just checked again, it says that Serbia has ,,MiG 29 Fulcrum A" , the Soviets have the exact same thing, but funny thing is that even though the name is same, Serbian one has a ,,Slot Back [N-019EB Rubin]" radar and Soviets have the ,,Slot Back [N-019 Rubin]" , so that is correct, BUT, both have 40nm range, even though the export EB radar has a range that is double less, so I guess around 20nm, there's probably some reliable info on the net.

I had just finished writing a massive, comprehensive post about this, but after hitting the post button it was all lost because I can't post links yet . Should have saved a draft! Anyways, here's the short version:

#3889 - A-10C Thunderbolt II and #3890 - OA-10C Thunderbolt II (in other words, the 2015 entries) should not have "AN/AAS-35 Pave Penny" - the Pave Penny has been gone for at least a few years. Instead, the LITENING pod should handle LST duties, which it currently does not as far as I can see from looking in the database. These jets should also have the AN/AAR-47 MAWS, which was first spotted on A-10Cs in 2009 and is now ubiquitous. Lastly, these jets should probably receive the HMS/HMD property, as the A-10C's HMCS had left testing and was seeing combat in Afghanistan earlier than January 2014.

If this is not enough to go on and you would still like a comprehensive post with proof, I can try to recreate my original post in about a week when I'm able to post links. Thanks!

US ANG F-15Cs should be have an available Sniper Pod loadout as of 2015.

Combat Aircraft (Oct 2016, "Guardsmen in Bulgaria", pp. 77-78)
quote:

"...and two of them (104th FW Mass ANG F-15Cs) also carried the Sniper targetting pod...The Sniper pod is cued by the F-15C's APG-63V(3) radar in order to know where to look to pick up aerial targets at long distances, and has fairly good air-to-air tracking capability. Thus, it has become a useful tool for the homeland air defense mission performed by the ANG Eagles...The Sniper pod, integrated on the F-15C, has been tested successfully in tracking slow-moving and even maritime targets."

The Florida Air National Guard's F-15Cs are some of the most advanced in the world, with many of them receiving the APG-63V3 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar. The "V3" as it is called, is a quantum leap in capability over the mechanically scanned array APG-63 and is considered to be one of, if not thee most power and capable air-to-air radar in the world. Also, the 125th FW is the first F-15C unit to incorporate the Sniper targeting pod for air-to-air use, allowing crews to identify targets visually at extreme ranges. To my knowledge, they remain the only unit that is fully operational with the Sniper pod at this time, a capability that will enhance their utility when it comes to intercepting foreign aircraft under various conditions.

The Air National Guard is ahead of the curve. In 2011, the reserve force began testing the Lockheed-made Sniper targeting pod on one of its approximately 130 Boeing F-15C fighters.
The Sniper pod, normally used to spot ground targets, includes much of the same technology as IRST and has “some pretty good air-to-air tracking capability,” according to Jon Sutter, Lockheed’s Sniper manager.
The two-year Sniper test was meant to improve the reserves’ ability to inspect suspicious aircraft at night—but the IR pod could also work against stealth planes. Northrop Grumman’s Litening pod reportedly has the same ability—especially in its new ATP-SE version.

Minor suggested change for the SA-2f/S-75M Volkhov facilities (DB3000 Facility_522, 231, 1459, 1706, 409, 1498, 1332, 1288, 1788, 269, 1621, 16, 1405, 1618; CWDB Facility_754, 909, 720, 961, 759, 964, 1637, 752, 318, 908, 1588):

The listed acquisition ranges of the SA-2f battalion may be too large. In the game, their FAN SONG radars are listed as having an 80 nm range. According to Jane's (IHS. "S-75 Family." Land Warfare Platforms: Artillery & Air Defence, 30 July 2015) , an SA-2f Bn used the E-band FAN SONG F illuminator. This is correctly noted in the database. What is incorrect is that the FAN SONG F had an acquisition range of only 60-120 km (32-65 nm). This is in contrast to the SA-2d and SA-2e-associated FAN SONG E, which operated in the G-Band, and had had a longer acquisition range of 75-145 km (40-78 nm).

http://www.gulflink.osd.mil/irfna/irfna_refs/n28en030/airdef.html and Global Security (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:5FqIxoY2QNIJ:www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/fan-song.htm+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us) also report these same range numbers for the FAN SONG E and F.
