Any pros or cons to have the Italians or the Afrika corp. continue on into Syria and Persia after Cairo is captured, where do you have to go and capture to cut off US supply to Russia? How is supplied handled for the Axis when you get to Persia, never got that far yet.

You absolutely want Persia, if only to cut off lend lease. I forget the name of the port you must take, this is in the manual. It's not easy to get to, either, there is no directly supplied path to it, the Persian rail leading to it actually runs through the interior of the country and not along the coast. Most annoying. If you try to march directly to it along the coast, you will take forever to get there with an out of supply unit.

As for Syria, that is trivially easy to get by the time you are near it. The UK likely won't even defend it (assuming it even has anything left in the Middle East. The AI appears to give up the ghost once Egypt falls. Reinforcing the Middle East via the Persian Gulf is a logistical nightmare for the allies.)

If Syria is still Vichy, then perhaps leave it alone.

Do you mean if the Brits haven't taken Syria out first?

After Persia, you can also open a new front with Rommel in the Caucasus. I had a hard time breaking the Soviet lines there, but the defense folded very quickly after the DAK stormed Baku
