Trying to start a game with 2.3.4 with a partner elsewhere in the world with the same version.

We've both tried initiating a game, but for us both after US set up is completed, the game sticks and does not show USSR units.

Help!

There is a prompt after each major power sets up - which the player (in this case the Allied player) must click on to advance the game to setting up the USSR. If the US-Japan convoy chain requirement isn't fulfilled, then there is a second (earlier) prompt.

I just played through setting up all the units for Global War yesterday without any glitches.

What did each player in your game see on the screen? Specifically, what did the Main form show as the phase? Which of the flags were lit? Did one side have a message (lower right corner) saying Waiting for ...?

If you both can take screenshots when the program halts, I should be able to figure out what happened.

Thanks, we managed to resolve the problem and the game is progressing.

The game appeared to get stuck between different powers setting up. No units would appear, though there would be a message indicating that it was the next power setting up.

Not sure what my opponent did but I managed to get past this by saving, exiting and restarting the game.

No screen shots sorry, but do appreciate your response Steve.

What can happen is that the Detailed Map covers the Setup Tray. Resizing the Detailed Map (smaller) can make the Setup Tray visible.

In some cases the Setup Tray is positioned so only part of it is visible. Most often that occurs when the player uses different size monitors and the Screen Layout file (SLY file) is from earlier (when fewer, more, or different size monitors were being used to play the game).
