1. No
2. No
3. No
4. No
5. Yes, depot divs and kamikazes

It will give him 2 + months of time though, and every allied player in '42 knows how important that can be.

Toyohara is a huge blow - that's aircraft production that Kane no longer has. Great job.

I think you are confused with Toyama (on Honshu). Toyohara is on Sakhalin and has beaucoup resources and maybe a little light industry. No aircraft factories were harmed in the making of this invasion.

I don't recall you being this bold and aggressive in our game. First Hawaii and now here.

Plus, what Encircled said; time! (more than two months I hope).

I am willing to lose every single unit up there if Japan commits major forces for the next few months.
If the KB is in NoPac, then she is not in SE Asia

p.s. Toyohara has 520 resource factories and 40 Light Industry. Shikuka has 31 oil.

That's a fair enough point. I'm not sure how I would react as a Japanese player (having never played Japan myself); however, my gut intuition would be that, while I still had the ability to, I would need to get you out of those islands. Not doing so is doom in that it makes strategic bombing of Japan proper possible before 1943.

The KB is too far away for this, but my inclination would be to try and throw something together before the invasion bonus wears off. Given that, I'd wager an over reaction on his part.

I cannot believe he had no naval search. That's crazy.

PS

Did you run any recon on those islands prior to the invasion force's covering carriers getting close enough? If so, how did you do it? Do you have range from the Aleutians? To me, any air recon missions in weird places would have caused me to over reinforce those places.

I doubt recon of the invaded points was needed. Olorin was keeping tabs on the Japanese units in every theatre and would have known that no strong units were left to hold the invasion points. Strongest would have been Karafuto mixed brigade at Toyohara.

I definitely could not do that. :D Now that Kamikazes are turned on, do they stay on, even if the territory in question falls back into Japanese hands?

Kamikazis do not activate until 1/1/44

The Japanese part of Sakhalin is country code 101, just like the Kuriles and all the small islands surrounding the main four islands of Japan. The main part of Japan is code 100.
In my game the Russians invaded southern Sakhalin and the US is in the Kuriles - no reinforcements for the Japanese. I am playing Scenario 1.

In my game (Scen 2), I invaded Parashimo-Java and the one next to it in May '42

My opponent said it triggered the emergency reinforcements and my Signit has identified "Depot Divisions"

Keep this up and I'll demand a rematch to set the record right. John 3rd had taken western Australia from me and I had taken it from Gen Patton.

Right now I'm doing two restarts (Gen Patton and 1EyedJack) due to Japan's economic parameters being messed up in the Editor somehow for BTS Lite. HI was requiring twice the normal fuel input.

AH-HA! Mystery maybe solved. I just landed troops on Paramushiro Jima (most of the rest of the Kuriles are already taken) and this same turn the Japanese got their Depot division reinforcements.

I re-checked the country code and it is impossible to see the last digit of the code because of the position of the Japanese unit there. I thought it was code 101 like the rest of the Kuriles but it must have been code 100, and therefore a trigger for the depot divisions. BTW I am in August 1942, so it appears there is no "date delay" set on this trigger, unlike the kamikaze delay to 1944.

That sounds like a map (pwhex data) error.

Don't know how that would arise. I am playing stock scenario 1 and have not changed the game maps - not even for the one with stacking limits.
Can someone else check their scenario one for the country code on P-J? Press the "4" key to see the country codes.

Not by you, by the scenario designer. I'll bet that at one point the Kuriles were the same country code as the main islands, but then were changed. Only they missed one. That's just a guess of course.

IN scenario 1, Paramushiro-jima and the tiny island to the East of it( no base ) are marked as country code 100.
All of the other islands and the Japanese hexes on Sakhalin are marked as 101.

Thank you both. Because PJ is the only Kurile island with a fortress, I suspect the code was set as a trigger on purpose. Unfortunately for the Japanese, the Allies have intel on that now!

How are your aircraft pools holding up? I always find that Spring/Summer of 42 that I feel a pinch that only is alleviated in the fall when the P-40K and new P-38 model arrives.
