I have been following the devlpment of Witp since last yr, and I thought what a game! Now I see these updates, and it makes me go wow!!! Has anyone played HOI? In my opinion, I think the technology section and the diplomatic section was handled masterfully although the other parts of the game were kind of weak. In PTO II the end-of-the month meetings were great. Any way such ideas could be included in WITP? The best part about HOI was that you had no idea what kind of force you would be going up against (strong infantry, weak armor, or strong army and weak navy, etc) I thought it added to the uncertainty and added to the individual strategy one would have to take, because one was never sure of the strengths of a country. Then how about being able to copy captured weapons, supplies, etc. (Ie, if the 88mm flak was captured, then the capturing country would be able to copy and mass produce it them selves, or use the ideas and innovations used in the weapon to improve their overall technology: Like the Russian 85mm gun, which was an direct copy of the 88mm. Of course this would take a while for a country to do. But it should not be to the extent where players go around looking to capture technology/weapons.) However, this would, in my opinion would make the game more interesting because it would add an another uncertainty factor in the game, something that was common place in war. By doing this, each game would become more interesting because the war can take a completely different turn instead of the player knowing exactly what type of tech/units the other have. The USN could pour in more money into building rockets, the IJN could pour in more money towards better aircraft carriers that would be able to absorb more damage and cancel the Yamato class, thus freeing up valuable resources and manpower. just my $.02, any comments? Ideas?
