Turn 18. Jul/Aug 1942. Allied #2. USN Submarines on Eternal Patrol.

Well, that sub battle in the China Sea didn't go well.

USN,South China Sea

Apparently I forgot to make screen caps but the 2 USN sub units there failed to make contact as did the IJN. So combat unsuccessfully attempted.

Turn 18. Jul/Aug 1942. Allied #2. USSR. Moscow Blue Factory Railed East.

Well, just did what Stalin never did. That is, rail the Moscow factories and workers east. My understanding was that everything was ready to go but on the morning that Stalin, his government and the Moscow factories and workers were to be railed Stalin changed his mind and decided that everyone was staying. Not in my alternate universe. However, if I could I'd send Stalin to ... well, you can use your imagination.

Turn 18. Jul/Aug 1942. Allied #2. USSR.

These stitched together screen caps were made after Soviet movement phase but before their air rebase phase. Two bombers in frontline cities were rebased to Moscow.

2. West Med.
Axis do not initiate and the Axis will not have the option.

I thought I had asked for the Italian NAV to react to the 2-box during your impulse. Any reason it did not?

1. East Med. Both RAF fighters to 0-box. Target Axis bombers first then their fighters.

2. West Med. I made a mistake on the Italian NAV which I put in the 0-box, [71,28]=36380. If you wish, please move him to the 2-box=36382.

3. Bay of Biscay. 4 RAF fighters (Spitfire VB, Hurricane XII, Hurricane IIc, Tomhawk) and 1 US fighter (Lighting) will react to the 0-box. Target axis bombers first then their fighters.

4. Azanian Sea. Allies will not attempt to initiate.

5. Arabian Sea. CW sub will not commit. RN will stay as long as CPs are still there. Any RN aborts go to Victoria, Spanish to Addu Atuu and French to Diego Suraez.

6. South China Sea. USN subs will attempt combat and continue to fight, if applicable, until Japanese CPs are gone.

7. Coral Sea. Avoid combat if possible. If TRS + Cargo not sunk or aborted after 1st round then abort, otherwise the USN will stay to the bitter end. TRS + Cargo, if aborted, and one BB to Rabaul. Everything else to Guadalcanal.

8. Mendicio. USN will stay to the bitter end.

9. The Solomons. USN will stay to the bitter end. Target Japanese bomber first then their fighters.

10. New Zealand Coast. Same here, USN will stay to the bitter end.

11. Polynesia. Stay to the bitter end.

7. Coral Sea rolls of 7/5 -> nc
8. Mendicino rolls of 6/4 -> nc

6b. Allied initiated SCS combat rolls of 2/2 resulted in combat.
Japanese had 3 surprise points, used to reduce the result versus them to A. Subs take 2A.
JP CA aborted, one sub aborted.
Round 2 rolls of 4/10 ended the combat.

JA42 i3 Land Attacks
Four attacks in Russia. No axis planes are flying support. I have one fighter (7 pt) that could intercept any bombers you fly to the middle two attacks. How do you want to distribute your bombers and fighters if any?

Corrected image added.

Only 1-air unit responds. The SB-2 bomber based in Gommel flies support to the defenders of Smolensk. This bomber will stayed until cleared, shot down or aborted and, if survives, returns to the woods adjacent to Moscow (43, 60).

That's why I always set dice and roll high on the searches to create similar images. That way I'm not disappointed when I roll for real.

Yes, I was setting rolls as well, all to 10, while taking images so that all searches resulted in no contact. But you still see what the program would have rolled before you override it.

JA42 i3: Land Attacks (4 posts)
First Smolensk.
GE fighters were able to abort the bombers, but their commander was expecting more.
The attack just missed perfection. Losses and disorganization ensued, though the city was captured.

Northern Swamp
In my many iterations of the Germany moves, I once had the 6-4 set to advance along the rail line into the swamp. Somehow I missed it on the final iteration. So I had to flip to occupy the hex.
