There was an 80s TV sitcom called 'Bosom Buddies', which would have been forgotten but for the presence of an unknown actor named Hanks.

I remember watching that on tv..

I know what's causing the delay. The Gorn has enlisted the aid of LoLbertarian Ron Paul to help, right after he proves that our currency issuing government needs to borrow its own dollars from China to prevent us from going broke!

We don't need the thinly veiled 'drive by' political ramblings on this (or any other) thread, IronWarrior. That's a good way to get 'em locked up.

OK, the game's afoot! (As opposed to it's usual crawl!)
If one of you fine gentleman (or even those nasty rotten creeps! ) would review with me how to do screen captures , I'll try to grab some from the 1st real turn.

I'm having some difficulty. Even though the file he sent me appears to be a .pws file when I try and get it it wants to be an .html file. I'm getting old, I'm probably doing something stupid. This is much higher priority than someone telling Steve how to do screenshots with MSPaint. Help!!!!

It does not appear as if you are saving the .pws, but rather the AOL page

I sent it to my other email, no problem. Shall I send it to someone else?

It's probably something wrong with AOL. Can these things be sent by PM? Maybe his service Yahoo is screwing it up?

You are trying to save the email itself, not the attachment. Try clicking on the .pws name and dragging it to your desktop..

I have Outlook (HTML), Yahoo & Gmail available if you want to send it to me? I can try it on all 3 platforms.

If you left click it is trying to open a .pws. Is there an option within AOL to Save File? Here is a picture of what a file attached looks like in Gmail. The down arrow is the Download option...

I find that the .pws file was going into my download folder even though I gave no such instructions and my default is Desktop. Anyways I copied it from there to the game save folder (replacing the earlier version). I expect it will work now. Will come back and scream bloody murder if it doesn't.

That's a quirk of Win10. I have not played with it enough to know how to change that...yet

That should be a setting in IE or Edge to change the default download location. Just don't ask me where it is... they change that stuff every version.

I just tried uploading it to Drop Box to an old game. Worked great. That's always an option.....

Yeah. I don't use either, so it requires time. And any free time I have anymore is play time, not actually DO anything

So I'm running the replay and it seems okay. I got two errors though before having to enter my password. I kinda sorta ignored the first one, but here's the second. Are Steve and I not on the same version?

Before I run any more of the replay I'll wait, in case I have to trash the whole thing if we have to start over. So far I saw two encounters with his subs.

While you're at it, you may want to opt out of future spam mailings from the Children's Hospital of Colorado, Lecivius.

It is my understanding that 1.7.11.24 is the current "Official" version. When you try to update the game through the game , that's what you get. Anything else is considered a "beta". Beta's are great , BUT...you need to determine upfront what your using so that YOU both can use it. You can always update BUT BOTH of you must update together. You never said anything about beta's , so when we said "Stock" with no rules , I assumed you knew what you were doing. I reloaded the "Official" stock , with all official updates , knowing that if you wanted to update , you would tell me. Apparently I was wrong. So talk to me. What do you want to do?

Agreed.

Do you have another email account that's more functional than AOL? Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, well...just about anything come to think about it...

I'm sorry, I've never not used the current beta. It gets worse. Here's the first error. This means we're not even using the same map, doesn't it? How do we recover from this?
