I've come back to the game after a several-year hiatus and fired up a new Axis campaign using the latest patch (1.09?). Go easy on me as I am sure there are mistakes on both rules and reference to historical things (you only have so much time to write these things!). I originally started this AAR for some folks at work who are more casual wargamers -- not really likely to play WITE, but still interested enough to follow a good campaign story. So my emphasis is more on the narrative than extreme detail for the most part.

Will post as I add updates. I would also welcome any advice on strategy as I've come to that crucial decision point in mid-August where I must choose where I am going with my panzer groups.

I see that like I say read the intro then the side bar had the other moves very well done I know it took a lot of time I am baby sitting 2 kids for family for week while brother is in London on Business and wife is at work one is a screaming 4 year old and a sick 8 year old with stomach flew. I was playing the new strategic command on this lap top "war in East" just won't handle in . tried it but the wait was to long . I tried to figure the dos box out before leaving for here . since that is my favorite game ever I was sent a copy before it hit markets on 3.5 disk . I would sell the civil war series games on old 5.25/ 3.5 disk then the bag series came out for think selling 15.00 some 30 years ago He told me countries like Israel would buy them like crazy since they are big history buffs Battles of Napolian was another one with 5-6 battles loved
any way I am rambling keeping the 4 year old tuned out and listening to Trump tell of the press I love it tell them off bunch lairs

Thanks! I am totally lost on what to do with Panzer Group 2. I want to bring 2nd Army forward and link up with 6th Army from the south, but I don't want to send the panzers all the way down there on a time-consuming operation.

I like the rewrite of history. You have to keep aware of the ports. If you had captured Tallinn and Oranienbaum at the same time, you would have cut off that entire front.

Hi Zoetermeer.

Many thanks for your fine AAR. It was a pleasure to read it. I'll try to create one for my own campaign using the same website.

One question though: Why didn't you use elements of the 1st and 2nd Panzer Army to seal off the Lvow pocket effectively in Turn 1?

Yeah I think in retrospect that would have been the right thing to do. Although I like to keep all of 2nd Panzer Group's strength as it is north of the Pripyat, but I guess it wouldn't be too hard to send them back up after finishing off the Lvov pocket.

Thank you! Ugh, I wish I had known that! I am still yet to capture Tallinn on turn 13 because it is somehow still supplied, and the defenders are heavily fortified.
