Well there is that of course. Why would you take a universally known "I couldn't care less" and change it to "I could care less......" but forget to mention the last part of this longer, wordier sentence - with the result that you don't say what you want, and indeed what you would have said if you hadn't stopped using the time honoured approach

Just remember, Brit-when it comes to honor, there's no room for 'u'.

Let's talk about lack of access to decent food. Some of you may think you know what poverty is. Some here may even think they know someone who is in poverty. You don't know diddly. I frequently bring street people back to the cardboard box I call home to thaw out. That restaurant I referred to was the dumpster behind my local Hardies. I went there looking for some good crispy duck, but alas, no luck. You can't handle the truth about being poor. I, for instance, save all my finger and toe nails ...er, claws. When I have enough I file them down on the sidewalk to make gelatin. Then I scrape the mold off of my cardboard box and add that. The result I pretend to be Lime Jello.

I first attempted to raid the grease trap, but there was none to be had. I think they use their cooking oil for far too long.

I heard you even let a poor homerless guy try your gelatin...

Webster also changed the spelling of words like defence, theatre, plough, axe, and catalogue, in addition to the u-less words. His spelling of tongue (tung) did not catch on.
Webster would like spellcheck.

The game has a town called Tungchow. Is that Chinese for lollipop? Ice cream cone?

So I checked in here to see if Singapore fell by Xmas '41 and now it looks like it's safe until Xmas '17!

At 19 pages I'm surprised that our green friend doesn't have U-tube-esque sponsors on this AAR; with this bunch of viewers perhaps Cialis, or a major bi-polar medication (helps control megalomania)...or fine distilleries coupled with big-name rehab facilities. Or, why not travel with the Gorn to exotic places??...smell the sulfur gasses at Rabaul...perhaps enjoy the titillations of backstreet Manila. The mind boggles at the capitalist possibilities; maybe we see the green man in new Hugo Boss with samurai sword in hand.

I haven't read all the posts since I was last here, I'll get to that later.

PROGRESS ON CONVERTING FROM DBB-C BETA VERSION TO STOCK LATEST OFFICIAL PATCH
I’ve made a backup of my current WitP-AE folder and given it a different name
I’m changing my shortcut path for this PBEM from this:
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -altfont -px1920 -py1080 -archive -cpu1 -fd -dd_sw –deepColor
To this:
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -altfont -px1920 -py1080 -archive -cpu1 -fd -dd_sw –deepColor
Next I opened the main folder and saw the beta update in it, but it was also in the Beta2 folder. I’m just going to leave it alone and not touch it.

Next I checked the PATCHES folder and saw I did not have the latest official patch, so I downloaded it and unzipped it there, then ran it.

Next I'm going to reload the regular map. I'm afraid that somehow even though I was using a non-extended map that DBB-C had made some change to it and that was the cause of the PWHEX error. Now before I try and figure that out I'll read your posts. If you spot any mistake I've made please post it.

Point 1: You really only need the -fd switch once in your command line.
Point 2: DBB-C uses the extended map.

Good catch on the -fd switch. DBB-C did something to the Buin and Shortlands base setup where you ended up with 3 bases and two islands instead of one. Now the map I was using only had Buin but if you put the cursor on it it showed it as Shortlands. I'm wondering about that. The extended map files are just additions/alterations to the map edges.
