Hello All.
I really enjoy playing this game, however, it is constantly crashing.
Sometimes it crashes during the computer turn, and sometimes it crashes when I go to save it.
It happens to me so often that I am running three different save files.

My system is a Intel i5 4460 @3.2 Ghz. I am running Windows 7.

Any thoughts? This is really annoying me....

Thanks in advance.

Are using updated game?

Crashing during the save suggests issue with permissions and file access. Try to check if it not installed in c:\program files. Check AV software.

Thank you Helpless!

I am using the lastest version (1.37?), and I do check for updates regularly. I am not using the current public beta.

I have my game installed in my D directory. This PC has a small C directory, and a large D directory.

Try to disable AV and see if it stops crashing.

You may post your DxDiag output, so we could see your detailed config.

I copied it from the crash report. Not being a programmer, I am not quite sure what DxDiag is. I googled it, but that wasn't very useful information...

I am a little leery about disabling my anti-virus. My system was wrecked a couple of years ago, and I have been using it religiously since.

Thank you for your advice, however. I really appreciate it.

To run a DxDiag report follow the steps below:

If you are running Windows 7 or higher, go to your TaskBar.
Click on, "Start Button".
Click on, "Run".
In the pop-up window enter DxDiag and hit ok.
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
Click on, "Save all information".
"Save As" window should be present.
Click on, "Save" (The file should be saved to your desktop as DxDiag.txt)
Exit the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

if it is crashing often enough, you can disable AV for short period just too see if it has any effect.

Video Card: 128MB DirectX 9+ Compatible

you pc doesn't have a card, it uses a GPU, or onchip / CPU one

quote:

DAC type: Internal

quote:

Dedicated Memory: 64 MB

using system memory off the main board to add more to the onchip use, leaving your overall system with less

so base memory is

quote:

Memory: 8192MB RAM
8GB

minus what is being shared to the GPU onchip
quote:

Shared Memory: 1632 MB

leaving the system with less than -6GB, which windows 64bit needs 3+GB to run, leaving 2+GB base memory to run

quote:

OS: Windows XPSP3/Vista/7/8/10
CPU: 1.5GHz+
RAM: 2GB
Video Card: 128MB DirectX 9+ Compatible
Sound Card: 16 bit DirectX 9+ Compatible
Hard Drive Space: 2 GB Free
DirectX 9.0c or higher

so you're borderline on the system ram at best, but with no card and using onboard for video, and slower shared memory, may indicate your problem or add to more issues anyway.

adding in a cheap 2GB dedicated card, will make the overall system and game work better, as your CPU won't have to run the game, and also power a onchip GPU as well.

this is only my opinion, others may disagree and give you different options, but a cpu at base speed of 3.20GHz is having it's hand tied running both the CPU and GPU and using the memory manager to sort of the memory for both and run a high end game, imo taking away just the GPU use from the CPU will help and stop some of the issue you're having, you may also help yourself by running a clean profile on startup, so have less apps and programs running on each boot, freeing up even more ran for the game and system to use.

good luck

Thank you for the reply, Zakblood. I have a GeForce GTX 750ti graphics card, which is apparently working properly (According to the Device Manager). If what you are telling me is correct, then it is not being used by this software.

I looked at the DxDiag file (Thank you again, Helpless...), and it claims that my system is not using my graphics card. It is, in fact, using the internal card just like you suggested...

Which begs the question: How do I get the game to take advantage of my graphics card?

Again, I am thankful for your advice...

first load the drivers for it, as you report says it's isn't or doesn't have it installed,

then,

Open the Nvidia Control Panel and locate Manage 3D Settings. Change, in both Global and Program, the Preferred Graphics Processor to High Performance NVIDIA Processor.

OK. I think the problem is my monitor cable. It is an old VGA cable, and I think that the graphics card wants a DVI cable. I will pick one up tomorrow, and that should (hopefully) solve the problem.

Thanks again, I will let you know if it works!!!

and a few more...
