Hello,

have a small problem.

One of my Tasforces is moving from east to west while the task force set to follow is moving from west to east and both should meet in the middle of the journeys.

Now the Main Task Force, which the other is set to follow, slows down to allow the other one to catch up.

This is resulting in no or slow movement of this task force as one is a SFCT and the other is a replenishment TF

What am I doing wrong?

If two TFs are set to Lead/Follow, the computer does not say, "Hey they are over there, let's meet in the middle." The computer's logic is that the lead TF is moving away from the hex where the following TF is moving to. Since the follower is not at the proper distance, the lead TF is slowing until the follower IS is the correct spot.

There are a couple of things you can do:

1) Rather than setting one TF to follow the other, set one TF to Meet the other and then follow. If they are closing the distance, both should move at regular pace until they get together. After that the lead TF should slow as needed to keep the follower at the correct distance.

2) Don't have them follow right away. Assign them each a course to a hex where they can rendezvous, and have them Remain on Station until both arrive. Then you can set up your follow command.

for those having similar problems, there is the option "Meet task force", that worked well.

One more lesson learned
