The Lady Lex's victims. I will gladly trade all them for the Lady Lex herself. The Mutsu is 7 hexes away, and the Tenryu and destroyers but sans torpedoes.

The Yubari and 2 Destroyers are only two hexes away with full ammo loads and some disgruntled soldiers they fished from the waters.

How many mines at 49,90?

Two sub loads...80 Type 88 so those ships are most likely are all reefs now especially if the Zannis carried fuel, as is the Allied want these days.

The most excellent minefield. Supported by a screen of most excellent Iboats.

Invasion coming at Palembang; most troops now headed to the Mersing and Kuantan.

No. Graphics wise players can use their own preference, it only matters that the data matches. So with maps, both players must use "stock" or "extended" in the graphics of their choice.

Sink the Lexington!

The Tatsuta is damaged and will flee the combat zone hopefully.

Guam will likely fall to a deliberate attack on the morrow, all troops ashore with no disruption.

IJN intel shows a decided desire to suck all the fuel from forward operating bases, and it maybe quite likely that the Lexington arrives at Guam to refuel and rearm anything that can be. At port level 2, that is probably not much.

The Penguin is I believe still in port there.

Over twenty midget subs are assembled and will move in and around Guam...on the off chance the Lex heads there.

Now, the cruel reality is that there are no airborne torpedo supplies anywhere in the area. Which I had thought about previously, but did nothing to rectify. Lots of Betty and Nell squadrons can make it here, but fighters are scarce to, and for the most part right now Claudes.

My guess is the Lex might refuel at Guam and then head south for a run along the New Guinea coastline. Or, very likely, it will head straight for Truk and all the potential shipping there.

The IJN definitely has a good chance at the Lex....can they sink the Lexington?

Really pondering this move...I am going on a trip this weekend, so no matter what I do, I won't see it until this Monday.

And I don't want to have any regrets when I send the turn to the Allies.

Pondering.

I don't think Lex needs to rearm/ refuel yet, and Guam is one of the worst places to do so... as it invites all sort of nasty surprises like Japanese mines, midgets or a SCTF covering the landings,

knowing that KB is far away, and that you are constrained for land base assets, I would not worry too much about the air threat yet, and I would put a lot more weight to the other threats: surface, submarine, mines

Jorge, I think you are right.

I did some rough fuel calculations, assuming a 10,000 fuel bunker on the Lex (?) and with the heavy cruisers present, I don't think the TF will be starved for fuel, unless they made a flank speed run which I doubt.

Guam has I recall only a piddling base force, I think. Recon bears that out, and no way can she stand a day's attack by 120 AV plus. i doubt Guam has more than 2000 fuel anyhow given her small size.

Obvert knows this area is lacking in subs and HQa...and he knows the KB is at Pearl. The Taiyo and 27 Kates are at Bad...Allies have DL of at least 1 on most of my surface groups.

I think he is planning to strike at Truk next...there are quite a few ships in port there and only 9 fighters to protect them...plus the chance I scatter. But the Mutsu stands between the two....

Still can't decide how aggressive I should be. Input anyone else?

For vulnerable TFs, I would follow the "lights-on, cockroach-run" approach..
set every TF to run away in a different direction, disband any TF that can be disbanded,

That and:
- bring as many LBAs/ fighters I can (without hindering more important operations)
- put all fighters and even FPs to CAP
- increase naval search
- Go aggressive with BB TFs... only his torpedoes can seriously damage you, and you know the dud rate is high, and the Devastator is short legged

I have most of that covered. But I max night search with float planes...

I figure a day behind the Lady, is the Big E. Lexington can't have many torpedoes left having flown two missions with them on merchant ships.

Ruyjo has got 50 Zeroes for the Palembang invasion.

Taiyo has Kates at Babeldoab. I can swap that out for Claudes if I wish.

The others are in the South China Sea.

Lex alone can eat Taiyo for breakfast... not to mention the potential arrival of BigE
I wouldn't risk it

that said, I would use those Claudes or Kates... after replacing any good pilot for an average/ poor one... I mean good pilot in poor aircraft is not the right mix... and you only need them to reduce the Dauntless' aim anyway

If you stay at Pearl for follow up strikes, Truk is vulnerable... even Babeldaod. In my game against 821Bobo, I cleared all valuable ships out of Truk immediately. He may continue west toward Babeldaob. If you have not moved out the 21st or 23rd Air HQs from Takao, you will have no torpedos there either, and he probably knows this. Babeldaob is in the transfer range of Zeros from Takao, however, so I doubt he will strike directly at Babeldaob. Expect a port strike at Truk and then, he will probably hug the coast of New Guinea and head into the DEI, taking on fuel at Balikpapan, if possible. Maybe get to Jolo to cover Tarakan and Balikpapan and prevent additional loss of fuel there?

I vectored by surface fleets to hit the Lex as if she is heading towards Truk.

Babeldoab has 70 fighters; 45 are ace Zeroes. Tomorrow they will be at Truk, and Babeldoab will have 36 Oscars and other fighters. 3 Sqaurdrons of Betties and Nells are in the search area...they all have great training at Naval Bombing...but I won't commit them without escorts.

Do you mean their general EXP or their bombing skill ?
