Since originally playing "Second Front"(Amiga) and the successor "War in Russia" (PC, DOS) I was always wondering about some strange factory placements. These errors in the database were obviously taken over to WitE.

This mod is an attempt to fix this, it's based on the standard 1941 campaign, using unmodified generic data. The only changes were made to scenario data. A future version will use locked generic data for some further in-depth changes.

I do not consider this a final version as some errors may have crept in. So if you find a problem please report it.

Installation: Download the file (attachment at the bottom), unpack the files into the WitE \dat\scen subfolder (it won't overwrite existing files from WitE) and load scenario in WitE.

Reserved post for future version 2

Plan: Use locked generic data for some in-depth changes to upgrade paths, dates, build limits and to split Ju 88A from Ju 188E and He 111H from He 177 production. Another goal will be to reduce factories ending without upgrade so it will see Panzer III -> Panther or LaGG-3 -> La-5 upgrades.

Preview changelog of version 2 - work is still in progress and several changes may happen.

Denniss -

I am always amazed at the incredible amount of work that a gamer will voluntarily do just to improve a game.

I am very new to WitE; but encourage you to stick with it; and will follow with interest.

My respect to you and your work. Sir!

Mac

I'm still working on it but are a bit limited in time, long runs to test production need a lot of time.
I'll have more time once the german translation overhaul is finished.

Great work. I think this is worthwhile enough to include in an official release, especially the tweaking of the equipment upgrade paths.

Hopefully Joel and the boys are lurking here and give it some serious thought

I'm still working on it but currently lack time for long runs + there are some upcoming official data changes I want to integrate.
If I find some time I may attach a not fully tested version (lacks long range tests) as alpha version. I'll have to test some upgrade path changes first so don't expect anything prior to early december.

Here's a lookout/alpha version of the Historical factory mod version 2 campaign, based on vanilla 1941 campaign. Although the initial database from ~1.06.04 it should contain most changes made up to and including 1.06.23.

I did not have time for a longer testrun into 1942 or later so several upgrade changes and special functions may not work properly.

Just returned after a 6 year absence....

Is Denniss still working on this Historical Factory Mod?
Or...has he integrated it within other broad-based mod packages??
