This is a slightly scaled down version of the actual bombing mission over Hanoi during the Vietnam War. It takes place on the first day of bombing, December 18th, 1972. Over 30 B-52D/G bombers with F-4's, F-105's and E-66's providing CAP, SEAD and ECM support duties with orders to attack 9 targets in Hanoi.

As in the actual war, the B-52's are faced with very aggressive SAM battalions defending Hanoi and must drop all their ordinance in accordance with "press-on rules" put into place by SAC. MiG-21's from a single airbase in the north will aggressively defend the skies over Hanoi pushing the B-52s and their defensive countermeasures to the ultimate test.

Known Issues:

After the update to SR7 B906.26 a few of concerning behaviors occurred which may or may not be bugs;
1)the F-105's didn't seem to aggressively attack the SAM sites as the radars were seemingly only active for very brief periods.
2)attack missions using the F-111's ran into fuel starvation issues.
3)the runway at the Kep AB could not be destroyed past 99.9%.

Please advise if you run into these same issues.

Thanks for playing.

Steve

Thanks for creating this scenario. There appears to be a problem downloading the scenario zip file.

Thank you zeufman. I've left the player to decide exactly on the route the attack takes in the scenario. With airbases in Thailand and Guam, their isn't a lot of route planning to decide on. It becomes more of how many and how fast are the attacks going to occur and how does one neutralize the heavy SAM presence.

I hope its entertaining for you.

Steve

That's ok, this is only for inconopgraphy to the scenario. As you said, flight path aren't a lot.

is it normal that the Tanker in Tapao Royal Thai AB aren't ready ?
need 3 hrs to get ready to support air refueling task, and my first cap have needed to refueling so they RTB. And they are no more
tanker available.

God's Eye is on for the US at the start. Tapao tankers are not ready. Refueled from KC-135s over the SCS with B-52s and they ran out of fuel and crashed (!).

Thanks for this scenario. It brings back a lot of memories. I flew four of these Linebacker II missions out of Guam as a gunner in a B-52G model. I flew on the 20th, 23rd. 26th, and 29th. We also had tanker support (KC-135's) out of Guam and Clarke AB, in addition to UTapao and Kadena. There were 54 D models at UTapao, another 50 D models on Guam, and 99 G models on Guam. The database is wrong in one area. The bomb load for the G model was 27-750 lbs only. The G's did not receive external conventional racks until after 1975.
